Heron stared at the milky sky, eyes shining with the low light of the rising sun. "Heron?" She heard from behind her, and turned to see the short apprentice, Applepaw. Her heterochromatic eyes looking worried. Heron briefly wondered where her brother was. Applepaw was usually following the ball of fur around like a lost puppy. "Is everything okay?" She asked gently, and Heron realized she hadn't responded. No, everything was not okay. She needed to think. And the very cat she needed to think about was standing behind her looking cute and concerned. Stunning. That was the only word Heron could think of. "No. I'm not okay. I keep thinking about you. Every single fucking time I see you my heart aches and I get all tongue tied. I'm not used to it. You're so small....but you pack a punch and it amazes me every time. But I want to protect you, despite that. I want to be beside you and I fucking hate it."
