*"They say time heals all wounds. But what if it doesn't?"*
You'll think age takes away the feeling of loss you once had.
I hear people say all the time that, "With time, it will pass".
"They'll be forgotten with time."
But is it really true?
Maybe to the world and the ones outside, yes, time may make you forget. It will pass with time.
But to the ones who go through the pain. The ones who have lost, time changes nothing.
Or how do we explain how a grown man cries about wanting the love of a father he never received?
Or one who never stops searching for, never moves on because he just hangs on to the desire to see a father he never knew
Or one who is filled with so much emptiness because of a mother he always sought love and protection from but never got it
Or from one who has lost a parent or two infact and is all alone in the world without the care, covering and that parenthood gives.
We'll never forget the pain.
We'll never forget the space that has been left in our hearts.
And no, time doesn't heal that.
We may grow but we never outgrow how those experiences have marked us.
We may even see a therapist.
Talk through it.
Process our emotions and try to find peace with it.
But there is one way to fill up again.
To get covered.
To get filled with what was missing or lost
And that's in the Love of God
That's in Jesus
That's in getting a good good Father
There's definitely a love, a covering, a protection, affirmations, and an approval we have in Him.
It's not living in denial of what was missing or lost.
It's experiencing what could have been there but wasn't that we now have in Christ.
*If this spoke to you: You are seen. You are not alone. There's a Father who fills the gap.*
