“Tried it once, an’ they just used it as an excuse to nearly bite my fingers off.” Pete bit his lip, trying his hardest to suppress a grin. He didn’t want to geek out too badly in front of someone who actually gave a shit about his show. “I mean, the radio is kinda cool. Never thought I’d actually get it working inside Hogwarts, but all the protection spells and everything kinda worked out in my favor. Never have to worry about it getting outside the castle or anything like that, y’know?”

“And now you’re going to have one in your body! Or more!” Leon mused with a smile and looked at Noah as he was going through the stash of temporary tattoos. “I think my parents still believe Im going to stop getting real ones and stick to temporary. Or maybe they just want me to try the temporary pattern to see if I won’t get bored of it after a week. Anyway, I’m pretty sure my mum enchanted them so that they move!” he grinned and took the sheet and the scissors and cut the shape up. “Where do you want to have it? I guess I’m going to have mine on my ankle because it’s too big for my wrists. But what about you, Noooo-eeee?”

“Um, hell yes. Between you and Leo… I’m going to be the size of a house. Perhaps this is your way of trying to take down Slytherin?”

“you would think that, however there are still some who tend to send glares my way when i’m working on school. but i try not to pay them too much attention,” she said firmly. “it doesn’t bother me as much as it used to, anyways. i’m used to it by now.” that was only half true, but she decided not to get too into depth. 

Severus continued to scowl as Noah arranged his materials, but once it became clear his attempts at INTIMIDATION were having no effect, he let out a resigned sigh and reached into his bag for his transfiguration textbook and a fresh roll of parchment. He couldn’t very well continue his other work now, but figured he might as well begin his homework… 

But something about the way Noah had  s m i l e d  in response to his glare continued to irk him. Severus kept glancing up, dark gaze fixed on the unwelcome Hufflepuff. It was a DISTRACTION he could really do without. 

         “ —  must you be so loud? ” he snapped, his quill halting on his still mostly blank parchment     (  NOISE was hardly the problem, but it was as good an excuse as any to try again to rid himself of Noah. )  “ Don’t make me change my mind and HEX you. ” 

He glanced to the other when hearing the sigh, noting how Severus still refused to resume whatever he’d been doing. It made him feel slightly guilty. Maybe next time he should’ve left and come back when the room was unoccupied. It was too late for that now though.

     she clapped her hands together in excitement and said with a nod, “what an excellent start! i will accept that.” she waited until he did so before inquiring, “see it’s not that bad? i just want to enjoy the last bit of this weather before everything freezes over.”

Leon grinned widely when Noah agreed on the idea and immediately jumped on the other’s back. “My dad sent me a lot of these recently, I bet we can find a dragon too!” he chuckled as they made their way towards their dorm room. And when they finally reached it, Leo pulled out TONS of temporary tattoo patterns and handed them to his best mate. “Let’s choose then!” he spoke excitedly, not being able to wait any longer for them to get matching tattoos, even if they were just temporary. 

“i suppose it’s just one of those things we’ll never really quite know about,” she said with a simple shrug. “glad i’m not the only one who does it. i feel like when i’m in the library working on assignments and i start rambling, people tend to think i’m crazy. but whatever helps me get what i need done efficiently. i mean, that’s what really matters in the end.”

“Or will it?” She cocked a brow. “I do like you for you, it’s why we’ve stayed friends for so long.” She placed a hand on his shoulder. “Your cookies are amazing.”
