Spot wasn’t one to cuddle, and that was okay. There were plenty of other things to do. Like kiss, hug, hang out together, play video games… except, Spot didn’t like many of the others and to say the very least, it upset Racetrack. He’d taken so much time, so much effort in his life to crack the hardened, brown-eyed boy into caring about him, that it seemed like a waste to give up. So he never did.

There’d been countless times they’d fought of a simple, too loving gesture. Though one day was insanely different.

Race and Spot were found on the couch one afternoon, watching some dumb documentary about an orca in SeaWorld… actually scratch that, it wasn’t dumb. It was sad. At one point Race was pretty sure that Blackfish had gotten Spot to cry. Little by little, Race had unconsciously inched himself towards his boyfriend, holding his hand. Then a few minutes later, he found himself leaning his head on his shoulder. To his surprise, Spot eagerly wrapped his arm around Race, yanking him as close as he liked, a soft, starkly tender thumb rubbing his shoulder in the softest action Race had ever seen from the boy.

Silence. And then, “You comfortable, Racer?”
