If the bones don’t have any flesh on them I scrub them with a toothbrush to get off dirt and them whiten them. Depending on the bone I may also degrease them.

I use maceration to get the flesh off the bones, (maceration is soaking the animal/bones in water to remove soft tissue). Usually after this point I clean them with a toothbrush. I then leave them is soapy water to degrease them. To whiten and sterilize them I put them in hydrogen peroxide, you can find this in grocery stores.

Time frame varies for all of this, I’ve had some bones done in a few weeks and other have been soaking for almost a year. Just make sure to double check the bones for any remaining soft tissue.
