for someone who makes no sense most of the time, making no sense to other people being the biggest fear factor sudden stomach bug gotta race home never come back feeling summoner is a buzzkill. numero uno reason why taking my bike to home depo for the necessary supplies and bolting my door shut for good sounds like a genuinely nice day plan and a solid life solution. truth is, i could probably trip out my window and curtain railing with a pail and rope in a kid down a well situation, organise for someone to send food up every few days with mail and my communications to the outside world. though i guess it’d actually be more of a rapunzel deal since my room is on the second floor . . . god, whatever. whatever. i can’t really get stuck in the hypothetical details right now. there’s spikes in my face and fright in my heart as my legs wobble. they genuinely might give way but if i fall on my face right now, that may really be the final nail in the greg coffin or the greg containing bolted door.

‘ uh . . . ’ i start, embarrassingly. don’t know what it is about any kind of questioning that gets me acting like my hand’s stuck in the cookie jar, but here i am. ‘ just, you know . . . thingy. ’ i raise the camcorder and give it a shake ( way easier of a thing to do when your body’s already doing most of the motor work shake shake shaking away like it’s trying to keep warm. i hate that i do that. ) ‘ just . . . filming. ’

hiiiiiiiii my favourite thing that got me hooked on this story and this character and what i think you can best glean from the book to the movie is greg’s worldview and how he reduces literally everyone to their most cartoonish form of themselves and caricaturises them beyond belief so he doesn’t have to meaningfully engage with them so he can keep them at arms reach at all times. i wanna focus on greg’s growth from where we leave off in the book/movie when he seems to come to a sort of actual human revelation that he can’t treat people that way and that it’s actually not at all fucking ok for him to just be a living breathing walking symptom of internalising the representation of people he gets on screen and printing that on the people around him. that’s what i’m thinking and is the only way i could justify remaking a blog for him by actually having something to focus on. welcome <3 ! we’ll have fun
