my actual real bra size, after i spent the time and effort to measure myself properly and try the sister sizes, is around 30DD. you guys have seen me, i am not busty. the reason i have "double Ds" is because my boob+chest circumference is around 34", a certain number of inches larger than my rib circumference alone, which is around 29" (maybe down to 28 now with the corset changes but i havent re-measured). its the ratio between the two numbers which determines cup size. this is bra size basics for the US market. Asia as a continent uses a different system that involves measurements in CM and also appears to be not actually related to the numbers on the label (bras i order from asia arrive in basically random sizes), and then the UK uses a third system which is similar to the US one but not the same.

anyway like i said i, objectively, do not have large breasts. a smallish-medium navel orange fits in one of my bra cups comfortably. theyre like television nudity sized boobs. you know the ones i mean

28" (my band measurement) = 71.2cm, but im not supposed to order my band size in cm, im supposed to order a 34 band size, even though a 34 band size would be equivalent to 86.36cm, not 75 as it is shown in the text quote from the listing. plus im supposed to add sizes for "asian size" difference. so i have to assume vanity sizing has just gotten really crazy in the asian market and thats why most asian bras that ive seen are extremely padded anyway, to obliterate the actual breast shape and cover it all with foam. there are probably more fitted bras available but they just arent being exported, which is a shame because that size range would be useful to people with smaller rib cages in other regions

It also does NOT tell you to add inches to your underbust to get your band size. That is completely wrong.

(And every other website out there flat-out lies to you about this. I don’t even know why. But they have all been lying to us since at least the 1960s. It’s no wonder everyone thinks bras are so uncomfortable. All of the “standard” or “official” sizing instructions are flat-out, simply, wrong.)

Do not panic if you get a cup letter that sounds “big” (usually combined with a band size that sounds “small). Just try it on.

You’ll feel super skeptical at first. I did, too. Like “no way. I can’t be a [DD or whatever]. It’s impossible. The calculator must be broken.” But I promise. Just try it.
