“I’m doing well,” he eventually answered, though his voice seemed to waver.  Something about the day had felt off as if he had forgotten something of importance.  Frederick had tried to check (then recheck nearly a thousand times over) with Chrom, but nothing came up amiss.  Perhaps it was only his insecurities getting the better of him, fogging his memory and making him feel less than capable.

Besides that, though, he managed to feel confident and satisfied enough with his feats to withdraw for the night soon enough.  

“The weapon drills this morn went fairly well.  I was able to gather supplies and firewood from the local traders who were passing through.  Their prices were fair, thankfully.”

“I also exercised standard battle techniques with our fellow soldiers.  They seemed a tad hesitant to do so at first, but I believe they may have found the activity to be constructive and helpful in the end.”

His steps slowed slightly, evidently becoming more interested with his secretive ally than their patrol.  “How was your day?”  He asked, politely offering Henri a chance to speak.
