Two-time World medalist Loena Hendrickx has announced her retirement.
Her full statement:
"The end of an era…
After 22.5 years, it’s time to say goodbye.
A journey filled with unforgettable moments, victories, setbacks, happiness and tears. A journey that shaped me, challenged me, and ultimately made me the woman I am today.
More than anything, I am incredibly grateful. Grateful for every lesson, every sacrifice, every person I met along the way, and every opportunity this sport gave me. It taught me resilience, discipline, passion, and the courage to keep going when things got tough.
What started as a dream in a sport that was barely known in our small country became a lifetime of memories and achievements beyond anything I could have imagined. To have had the chance to represent Belgium on the world stage and make our country proud has been the greatest honor of my life.
As I close this chapter, I do so with a heart full of gratitude and pride. Not for the medals or the results alone, but for the person this journey allowed me to become.
Thank you to everyone who believed in me, supported me, celebrated with me, and stood by my side through every high and low.
This is the end of an era, but not a goodbye to the ice. You will still find me in the ice. ❤️🇧🇪✨

2026-27 Grand Prix Selection Procedure Rules
Updated June 16, 2026. Italics indicate changes I noticed from the previous season's rules.
Minimum Score - Women: 142.97 / Men - 197.64 / Pairs - 137.00 / Ice Dance - 138.94. Must be earned in the previous season at an ISU event or at the 2026-27 Challenger Series.
Seeded Skaters (1-6 at 2026 Worlds) are guaranteed two assignments. A) Priority given to seeded skaters/teams competing at their home event. B) Divided so far as possible that only one overseas trip is necessary. C) Every attempt will be made to not assign skaters with back-to-back events with traveling to two different continents.
2026 Olympic Medalists will be guaranteed two assignments.
Placements 7-12 (Singles) and 7-10 (Pairs/Ice Dance) will be guaranteed two assignments.
World Standings 1-24 will be guaranteed one event if they do not already meet the criteria listed above.
Junior Worlds and Junior GPF medalists will be included in the selection process.
Host countries are allowed 3 entries in each discipline. This includes skaters included in 2-6 criteria listed above. If a country chooses not to use all 3 entries, they must be taken from 5-6 above. If they do plan to use it, at least one entry must be in the top 75 of the Season's Best Scores list. If no skaters from that country are in the top 75, two skaters/teams maximum may be invited.
If any slots remain open, hosts may choose any Come-Back skater/team or skater/team from the Top 75 SB score list, including Returning Split Couples.
Come-Back Skaters/Couples - skaters/teams who have not paricipated in one more seasons but were previously Seeded (1-6) at Worlds in the past 4 years.~ Included as part of #8.
Returning Split Couple - Teams who were in the top 10 of the previous 3 Worlds (2024, 2025, 2026) may be chosen, included as part of #8.~ Couples have made their announcement by the Selection Meeting. If not, they can be added to the alternate list by winning a 26-27 Challenger event.
Return of Ranked Skater/Couple - skaters/couples not in the above, but who were previously in 7-10 but was injured/did not compete during the previous season may be considered, included as part of #8.~ Must have stated intent to compete prior to the Selection Meeting. If they don't, they can be added to the alternate list by winning a 26-27 Challenger.
Alternates - hosts must replace skaters/teams who withdraw up to 15 days prior to the team leaders meeting for each event. From 14 - 8 days, countries must replace any skater/team, but no travel contribution will be given. At the 7-day mark, consideration will be given to leaving the spot vacant.
All TBA spots must be filled by September 15, 2026.
~ - For these three criteria (9-11), they are farther down now than they were previously. Also, for Come-Back skaters/teams, it was previously the last 10 years and is now only 4.

For those interested, Jackie Wong was doing updates all day on the ISU Congress that started today. I have linked his website in the source that has a list of them and an overview.
Anything GOEs on Twitter/X was also tweeting about it, so look them up, too, if you're interested. Also, GoldenSkate did an update, so go to their website.
Biggest takeways:
Starting 2027-28 season, GP Semifinals (From GP to Worlds, Season would be September to April, GP Semis in January, Finals in February, with 4CC/Euros in March and Worlds in April.)
Combined 2028 Worlds (with Synchro, Speedskating and Short Track) in Beijing.
Among others.
Emily Chan and Spencer Howe have split.
Both are looking for new partners.
