using literally to emphasise sth you only mean figuratively obviously totally acceptable and making fun of that or complaining about that is obviously annoying and like passe. however. i am thrown off when people say "quite literally" and still don't mean sth literally. like if you emphasise that you really do mean something literally i do think then it should be literal.

if you gave a botanist or whatever a fruit or a flower that they'd never seen before would they be able to work out what kind of climate it was from... i like to think yes.

adam sandler is one of those people i feel completely net neutral about because hes not a good person but i do think hes like a really good comedian and the way his reputation has been tarnished in recent years is uninformed group think. but then its like well why would i care if a bad person is a victim of uninformed group think. so whenever he comes up or crosses my mind i have this thought process and the conclusion is to disengage entirely like whatever happens happens
