Fiery Ambition

 “Hello there. Nice evening, isn’t it?”

        A look much akin to a dead pan threatened to cross his features, though it never made it past the steel casing of a frown that seemed to be perpetually flaunted on his face. Was he talking to someone else? Had to be. And yet and quick glance around scratched that idea off the list. So, instead of beating around the bush, Grimmjow decided it was best to deal with the man up front. 

         ”S'pose so.” He began, languidly moving forward a bit as his air shifted into a predatory aura, becoming hyper aware of his surroundings. Regardless of the other being an ordinary human, there seemed to be something off about him. Something not right. 

He’s got too much confidence. I can fuckin’ smell it on him. 

“Don’tcha think yer a bit old to be hangin’ around a school, pops?” 

            “Yeah, I suppose I’m getting up there,” Mustang replied, his smirk growing into a full-blown smile. “I am a teacher, however. Besides, I don’t think anyone younger than me could have reached ‘general’ faster.” Roy pointed to the rank pinned upon his collar.

          “What about you? You got anything better to do than pick on an old man like myself walking home at night?” Flame was enjoying himself at this point. The alcohol permitted the sarcasm to flow from his lips like an old familiar spring that had lasted countless seasons. However, he was not without experience in dealing with the angsty types at such an hour and he spread his fingers through the silk-like canals fit for his fingers in the pyrotex ignition gloves as a precaution. 

Werewolf: If you had to spend your life with just one person, who would it be?

Witch: If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

Ghost: Do you have any regrets?

Frankenstein: Is someone telling you how to live your life, or are you an independent person?

Mummy: If you were to fall into an eternal sleep, do you think anyone would miss you?

Zombie: Do you miss anyone right now?

Faerie: If you could get away with anything, what would you do?

Nymph: What are you like when you’re by yourself?

Mermaid: How far would you go to keep the one you love?

Shapeshifter: What would you change about yourself?

Banshee: If you knew one of your loved ones/best friends had only one day left to live, how would you spend that last day with them?

Siren: If you could make anyone do anything, what would you make them do?

Genie: If you had one wish that would come true and couldn’t be reversed, what would you ask for?

Fury: What is a word/phrase that you dread to hear?

Incubus: What would someone have to do to get in your pants?

          Dull footsteps thudded quietly against the cooled pavement outside the pristine school of Spica. The air matched the ground though it seemed to be noticeably a few degrees cooler. Grimmjow’s head tilted slightly, eyes up on the sporadically placed lights that hung in the sky, the one’s he’d always secretly been fascinated with. Humans called them stars, he pretended to not remember the name to show disinterest. 

          A stray pebble found itself skidding across the cement, the sound of scraping stone bringing Grimmjow’s attention back to his feet as a sigh left the Sexta’s chest. Honestly, he was a hair’s width away from going stir crazy in this place.

And this damn fake body ain’t helpin’.

‘You know, this night isn’t half bad, all things considered,’ Roy thought to himself. His thoughts wandered away from the present, taking his consciousness through memories of the past and predictions of the future. The sound of his boot kicking a pebble away from him brought his attention partly back to his walk. His attention returned from the stars and his eyes fell upon a man with obviously chiseled features, gorgeous blue hair, and a look of complete discontent. Mustang came to a comfortable halt and let out a relaxed but well-articulated,

“Hello there. Nice evening, isn’t it?” A cool smile followed the greeting.
