Alberu: So murder is in reason but proper self care isn't?

Cale is about to watch a movie. He sits down, forgets the remote.

He gets up, grabs the remote. He sits back down. He forgot snacks.

He gets up, grabs the snacks. He sits back down. He forgot a blanket.

He gets up, grabs the blanket. He sits back down. Ah, right, Cale has to go fight a war-

He gets up, fights in the war. He comes back, sits backs down.

Ah, dang, Cale needs to go talk with the world tree.

He gets up, has a chat with the world tree. He sits back down. Now Cale has to go blow up an island.

-Chapter 756

OKAY LET ME SET THE SCENE.

Cale is unavailable for some reason- the reason is who the fuck knows- but he is needed to appear at a meeting between the nobles of Roan kingdom.

Alberu needs to explain VERY CLEARLY to the rest of the nobles that the Roan kingdom becoming the Roan empire is a very real possibility that might happen soon.

So he’s like “Cale, I need you to be at this meeting.” And Cale is just like “can’t.”

Alberu just sighs and is like “well if you can’t be there, send your father and someone to represent you.” Fully expecting Cale to send Rosalyn or something.

And suddenly Cale gets a devious smile on his face and agrees and Alberu starts to get a very bad feeling.

Anyways the day of the meeting arrives and Alberu’s anxiety is through the roof. He has not idea who Cale has decided to send-

And so the nobles arrive one by one, sitting in their assigned seats at like a round table or something and the announcer says:

“Duke Henituse and his son Cale Henituse’s representative!!”

And all eyes fly toward the door to see Deruth enter first, followed by.. a little girl?!

Alberu has never seen this little girl in his life. Wtf Cale.

AND following HER is a blue haired man that looks somewhere between a knight and a secretary and Alberu realizes with dread that that is the fucking mercenary king. What the fuck.

He’s holding a bunch of documents, still going over them as they enter the room. All eyes are on the little girl as she walks up to Cale’s usual seat(the one on Alberu’s right), sits down, looks toward Alberu and-

She waves to him. With a far more elegant smile than a girl her age should have- and she says:

“Hello, uncle!”

And from wherever Deruth is sitting he lets out a very heavy sigh.

Alberu is just looking at this girl when he realizes.

Cale’s cat tribe children.

The fog one.

But Alberu having the poker face of a god, just nods her. “Hello, Ohn.”

And the rest of the room is like ?!?!??!!?!!(minus Deruth)

Ohn has a sparkly silver shield that looks identical to Cale’s shield holding her hair together. No one is allowed to question her out loud though, she literally just called the prince UNCLE.

And the meeting just has to progress???

Very heavy political discussions take place, and Ohn is nodding along. Only occasionally does she tug on Buds sleeve to have him lower down to where she whispers something in his ear and he will either just nod, shake his head, or whisper something back, and she only does it when a noble says something particularly stupid and when she does it makes the rest of the nobles cringe in fear.

Eventually, a stupid noble asks Ohn who she is, and she smiles a smile that is far too similar to Cale’s scamming smile for Alberu’s comfort and she just responds:

“I am Cale Henituse’s representative while he is busy. I am here to relay everything back to him as once this is over.”

And silence hits the room like a truck. She continues:

“But sir, that isn’t the topic of discussion right now. Our Kingdom might become an Empire. Let’s finish deliberating on how we might keep it that way.”

And the she looks to Alberu who clears his throat and continues the discussion.
