Change seemed to be something that Monse embraced with arms open as soon as she left Freeridge. She had wanted to say that her life hadn’t affected her, that she could become a girl’s girl, someone who could forget all about the life she had known. Most of all someone who could forget all of the things she wished Cesar had become. 

Quick to anger Monse could have easily been one to go in on the loosely thought out tirade. “Jamal and Ru- Are you trying to prove me wrong? Do you seriously think I would say that to Jamal and Ruby? I couldn’t think of something further from what I’d say to Ruby and Jamal. The mere fact that you think I would even say that makes me want to take it back.” Monse took a long awaited breath. She had answered his question her arms crossing even if she was stung by his words. “Do you seriously think you meant that little to me? Seriously, how can you even say that?”
