            It wasn’t some girl though he wasn’t about to tell GINA that — it was embarrassing enough that she’d figure it out before she got home and he hadn’t been able to replace it. Plus it wasn’t like he’d taken everything ( just everything that hadn’t been opened yet ). So he just waited by the door-frame to the bathroom. Leaning agaisnt it lightly, watching his sister as she tried to get herself looking presentable. When she sits down on the counter next to him he lets out a small laugh, rolling his eyes a bit at her question. “ Yeah I meant to do that anyway, just — you got home faster than I thought. ” he started, a small shrug leaving him before he adjusted himself a bit on the wall — “ You wouldn’t know her anyway. It’s not like it matters. She’ll be bored with me soon anyway, real question is why’re you so so stressed ‘bout it. It’s not like you wear make up daily or anything. ”

      she’ll roll her eyes at murphy, something she had done many times over the years now. gina couldn’t quite remember what it was like to be an only child if she was honest. since the age of fourteen, she had had a younger and much more annoying brother to attend to and keep safe. at first, gina hated the idea, giving john the cold shoulder before eventually growing attached to him and loving him just like he were her actual brother - as if he had been there all the time, “ doesn’t matter if i don’t know her. i still call dibs on making sure she’s good enough for my baby brother. “ she grins, smooshing his cheeks lightly before looking into the mirror, “ you have no idea how expensive make-up is, do you? i spent half my pay check on this ----- “ she’ll avoid mentioning bellamy, she doesn’t need to give john new material to annoy her with, “ and i have ----- plans tonight. i thought i’d at least put in some effort. “

he listened, nodding, not believing a word she was saying. Gina, thought she had gotten good at lying but Marcus was still her father and had still been with her since she was born. However, he decided to let it go when she started talking about sex talk with his fiancé. He wasn’t under any impression that his kids weren’t having sex but he didn’t want to discuss and nor did he want to discuss his sex life with them. He cleared his throat when he noticed the guards jacket she had on. “Where’d you get that? Looks to big to be Bell’s.” 

    she was thankful when he moved on and didn’t ask her anymore about abby. gina knew exactly what was up with the female but it wasn’t her place to tell marcus - abby would do that once she was ready. glancing down at the jacket, gina shrugged softly, “i found it next to my cot in medical. i’m not sure who’s it is.” she admitted biting down on her lip, the mention of bellamy causing an uneasy feeling in her stomach, “it’s not bellamy’s. it doesn’t have his scent ....” she muttered before she could stop herself. 

Bellamy smiled and nodded, agreeing with the girl as she told him the stories sounded interesting. “They were indeed. O appreciated the change and I liked learning new stories”. Bellamy felt his stomach tighten a little as Ginas eyes dropped to the floor. He nodded slowly “Ok… Whatever you want” He said, his voice barely a whisper. “I’ll pick you up, we can eat on my room if you want, less crowded”

     she couldn’t quite remember what she was meant to be doing in those hours where bellamy was at work. the bar was empty, dead really which had left fox and her in an awkward silence, book in gina’s hand as she supervised the younger girl. after a while she had began to babble about something that gina quite frankly, couldn’t keep up with. she nodded once or twice to show that she really was trying to pay attention but the silence of the bar caused her to replay what had happened. to feel the blood on her skin again. the look in the grounders eye as she took his life. she shuddered, eyes closed as she tried to push the thoughts away. unintentionally, she slammed the book down upon the bar, just to make some noise so it would go away. her moss eyes lift when she sees a figure walk in, eyes dancing around his features before getting off of the stool she was sat upon, “can you tend the bar, fox? it shouldn’t get that busy and i’ll be back before you know it.” she offered the girl a fake grin, one she’d managed to perfect before making her way over to bellamy, “your room better not stink of boys and my dad said i have to be home by nine.” she teases, grabbing his hand in her soft grasp, “soooo ---- what’s on the menu?”

Bellamy smirked as he imagined Reyes snapping through Finns once luxurious locks, ending on the awkward and uneven cut he sported quickly after her landing. He messed around with his hair one more time before biting his lips and shrugging “Maybe a few weeks ahead from now, when you’re fully recovered and I can’t really see anything in front of me anymore I’ll let you get near my head with a pair of scissors” he said, light hearted tone. They were trying, clearly. Trying to make it lighter, trying to act like their last interaction hadn’t been the exact opposite of it. Like they hadn’t said and heard things they regretted. He tensed up as he winced in pain and raised a little from his seat, his hands already ahead of him, ready to support and hold her if she needed. But the girl went back to her place without anymore signs of pain. She could be hiding tho, always did when it came to Bellamy. He nodded along as she listed her activities. “Writing about what?” He asked before coughing and quickly correcting himself “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to, obviously. You can tell me, uh, which books have you been reading?” The guard questioned, trying to erase the personal words he had just said, not wanting her to put her walls up again, even higher. Bellamy was nervously licking his lips when she let it out. Missing him. He stopped in the middle of the action and looked up, his eyes meeting hers. “You missed me?” He asked, a small smile forming on his face.

    as he hovered from his seat again, hands in front of him as if she were about to fall, gina couldn’t help but smile softly. he still cared --- or was it an act? she decided not to dwell on it too long, knowing it’d only bring her down if she did, “unlike raven, i actually know what i’m doing.” gina pointed out. she’d given her dad haircuts on the ark, as well as some of the children. she shrugs softly though, “or maybe we should leave it. it curls more when it’s long and it’s ... nice.” she complimented. they were both trying, but even gina could feel the slight awkwardness between them, as if the argument was still fresh in their minds and she was sure it was. she knew she hadn’t forgotten about it, knew that she regretted it every day since. she’d kept tabs on bellamy, subtly asking marcus how he was, or jasper. even raven and scarlette at times too, “y’know just thoughts. stories. poetry” she confessed, small blush upon her cheeks. it wasn’t anything bad, but the idea of her writing stories of her own because she missed bellamy’s made her feel quite the idiot, “books? well, i finished the iliad. y’know, the one i got you. i stole it months ago and i forgot to give it back. i reread the great gatsby - you know that’s my favorite. i’m reading pride and prejudice now.” she told him, smile etched upon her face. her blush intensified at his question, eyes dropping to her lap as she bit down upon her lesser lip, “’course i missed you, bell.” she sighed, looking back up at him, gaze rather sad now, “i was angry at you. upset but i never stopped loving you.” 

Marcus bumped her shoulder gently and smirked, “I’m glad you’ve actually been discharged rather than just sneaking out. You’ve gotta stop being stubborn like your old man.” He looked at her, gaze gentle, “nothing much. Everyone is just settling back in and healing. “Can I ask you something? you’ve been talking to Abby a lot. Has she said anything about something being wrong with her? I’ve just noticed that she doesn’t seem to be feeling well and her back has really been bothering her?” 

     the question almost caught her off guard, causing her to pause, lip pursing as she does so. her eyes tore away from him, looking into the darkness. she could see the utline of trees in the distance, a pang in her chest - she’d once followed bellamy into those woods. she had killed in those woods. shaking her head, gina’s brow knitted, “we’ve been talking, yes. but she hasn’t ----- mentioned anything about being sick. she looks fine to me.” she shrugs. gina had become quite the liar since coming to the ground and she was sure only bellamy could see through them these days, “we’ve just been talking about boys ------ sex.” oh god she was hoping she was making him uncomfortable, so he would change the subject, “y’know, my very active sex life.” another lie and another attempt at him to move on. 

Marcus was walking toward the ark to head to bed when he saw Gina walking to the tower. He followed her up the ladder, he felt bad when she jumped. “Sorry love. It’s just me.” He came to her side.” No, I saw you out walking and wanted to make sure you’re ok.” 

    a soft smile finds her lips as her eyes fall upon marcus. turning, she looked back up at the stars, creating constellations silently, “i’m fine or i must be seeing as abby discharged me.” she tells him, biting down upon her lesser lip. with a sigh, she turns towards the older male, “what have i missed?”
