Besides turning the skin blue, does the curse do like… anything harmful to them? Because, in my humble opinion, turning into a Smurf sounds pretty fucking awesome!

The curse works like chronic pain unfortunately :( (CW: IV drips, unhealthy behaviors)

Both Idia and all his cursed family members have really painful flare-ups when there's not enough blot for it to consume. So they take blot supplements or in the worst case, actual blot iv drips. (Which Idia often has to do because he doesn't take care of himself.)

The flare-ups can be held under control with a healthy life style tho! (Which again Idia doesn't do)

Flare-up symptoms include: muscle pains, shivers, nausea, headaches, fatigue... uhh it's basically like the flu but without a stuffy nose or a sore throat.

This blot medicine is very dangerous for regular mages and the IV drips even more so. When Idia runs out of them he has to ask his family to send him more. And they do it discreetly and also securely (as in, a S.T.Y.X worker comes up to deliver it personally)
