Hishi Mochi Unlimited Embers Swap Banner tips
Swap banners are always fun. But this time its unlimited tries! While this sounds amazing, it’s very easy to waste a lot of embers with little to show for it (unless you had low number of embers to begin with). If you’re relatively new, this banner will be very helpful to take advantage of. If you’re a veteran player, there are only so many things that are helpful here that you could be wasting embers with nothing to show for it.
I’ll try to cover my basis for both newer players and veteran players. The focus will be more towards Disaster, event boss, or Catacombs utility. PVP ranking rewards suck so there’s no point in considering that meta.
If you care about collection, you’re on your own for how to manage your resources.
General tips for approaching Swap Banners
Figure out what Food Souls you’re aiming for and note what ascension your target FS are ahead of time
Be realistic about what practical ascension your target Food Souls will be able to reach
Know when to stop, especially if you have over 30k embers on you
Generally helpful Feast of Creations Food Souls to go for:
(Veteran players probably already have most of these units to decent *)
R - Tom Yum, Miso Soup, Milk
SR - Pineapple Bun, Sweet Tofu, Laba Congee if they are not 5* yet
If you go for Steak you’re dead to me
Red Wine and Sanma are one of the decent SR dps but they get benched very quickly in favor of newer UR and SR units available in limited banners.
Gyoza okay to go for if you’re relatively new and Tom Yum isn’t 5* with Artifacts yet
Everything else sucks from the get go or get replaced far too quickly
If a “tierlist” of what UR to go for will help:
S Rank (always go for) - Rum, Crab Long Bao
A Rank (good to go for depending on the situation) - Foie Gras, Peking Duck, Dragon’s Beard Candy, Bamboo Rice
B Rank (I don’t recommend it) - B52, Bibimbap
C Rank (garbage) - Gingerbread
Rum - The most popular contender. Best permanent UR dps who can also dispel. Should be #1 priority for just about everyone.
Foie Gras, Peking - if neither of them are 3*+ yet, I’d say its ok to chase them. The most reliable way to ascend them is through shard fusion so I don’t recommend prioritizing them for this, since the other options are harder to get copies for outside of swap banners.
Crab Long Bao - can technically ascend via shard fusion but much harder to get shards vs Peking or Foie. Also should be prioritized in swap since him at 2 or 3* will bench all SR Defenders (he and Tom Yum is the reason why you don’t need to waste your time with chasing Steak). 4/5* CLB is mandatory for late/endgame catacombs.
Bamboo Rice - not a bad option to go for if you do not have good limited URs at decent ascension such as Turkey, Nattou, Champagne, White Truffle (all of these URs were incredibly accessible and outperform basically all permanent URs except Rum)
Dragon’s Beard Candy - If Rum doesn’t show up and you have all of the URs above this at 5*, she’s a solid option. She’s a strong contender for Catacombs since charm is the best type of cc of the 3 (charm, stun, silence). Whether you can use her is tied to her base speed (and by extension, to her ascension). Considering she’s much more difficult to 3*+ and needs very strong speed FAs to replace Peking Duck, it’s better to prioritize the other URs first.
Bibimbap - not that necessary to go for at this point considering we now have a plethora of better options for whatever utility she fulfills (Candy Cane, t3+ Fondant Cake, Nagashi Somen, etc.). She’s very difficult to use and struggles to heal anything even at 4/5*. In most cases, you have to use a different healer who can help the team survive to the end of battle.
B-52 - if you still need his 1 copy, then choose him for that one time. Other than that don’t bother. He’s the easiest UR to ascend with shards in medal/tip shop so focus on getting copies for other URs that are harder to ascend.
Gingerbread - Don’t bother. She’s worse than Crab Long Bao stat/skill wise AND she’s too difficult to ascend outside of swap. The one UR no one here should be chasing under any circumstances.
Hishi Mochi - a pretty good Defender that provides self invulnerability, self healing, and inflicts heal block. However, ascension/stats > skills, utility. You can honestly just not bother with her but if you really want to replace Crab Long Bao, make sure to get her to at least 4* for her to have long-term use. Otherwise, CLB will win any day.
Kashiwa Mochi - a strong contender to go for if you did not get Boston Lobster or Rum to t4. With his artifact, he is a solid source of enemy dispel, team cleanse, and team buff (though the mults are lower than that of Blob and Rum’s artifact). I can’t say when his Gate of Trials will arrive but save ~20k stamina so that you can t5 him when we get it.
Cassata - pointless to go for at this point considering he doesn’t even have a purple FA preference and any newer limited UR at 1*+ will bench him immediately
Green Curry - actually bad and should never be used in any team. Does 0 damage on basic skill and the buff does basically nothing.
