Sketch doesn't equal the final work quality. Trust the process.

For me sketches have always been just another way to grasp an idea, like a scrappy note whose whole purpose is to not let me forget what have come up into my head. If this format works for you - no need to try and clean them up for the sole purpose of making your sketches "presentable".

You can do that later, when you work on your piece.

It's okay for your initial sketch to be sloppy.

Of course if you still love to sketch at a higher level, you can do that too.

The point is to pick what works for you and not force yourself to do the "norm". I strongly believe that there is no "right" way to draw as long as you are satisfied with your work.

It's your art and you can be as weird and incovenient about your process as you deem fit.
