Taking away a child and bringing it "back" to a country it has never seen before is not only an indescribably horrible experience for the child, it also leaves a painful hole for those who stay.
This is a rehearsal snippet from one of our latest songs, Still Kill; lyrics-wise a little bit over the top to make a point.
Here are the full lyrics, inspired by an experience of our guitarist, a teacher at an affected school:
Fennez Marson – Still Kill
The news, it is a-breakin'
Yet so unique for those deprived
Oh, the epitome of innocence
Inner children just don't survive
Zero ability to comprehend the pain
Zero capacity to see that's insane
A rose is a rose is a victim
My boy is a victim, my boy
And a rose is a rose is still a killer
My girl is a killer, oh still kill
Once the crime has been committed
You will breathe without a heart
In an instant, you won't mind
And you will justify your sin
With some words from a book you chose
A compromise by theorists
Oh officer, you're just another rose
And so ten distressed kids are losing
In a star-crossed match of shame
You can replace a soccer player
But it's never gonna be the same
And now my whole flock is scarred for life
For I'm a good shepherd, I hope they'll run away
And find you, your daughter, son and wife
