If it’s too perfect, it’s often fake.
If it’s too beautiful, it’s often not human.
If it lacks soul, it’s often not created by real human hands.
If it’s just beautiful and lacks a soul, it’s probably just artificial intelligence put to work by a fake artist.
You can’t learn to paint in just a few months, and progress—especially if you’re inspired by the great masters—takes years, study, dedication, and mistakes. And often it’s precisely those mistakes that make art human, and for this reason, preciously beautiful and dear to our hearts and feelings.
Just a reminder -> An artist who is happy and in love with Marius and Marius/Armand, and who can't believe that one of the fanarts she painted—and loves the most—is already so old 🥹
What’s truly, truly outrageous and unbearable? The fact that they’re stealing lore from Anne Rice’s books—after they’ve disparaged her, attacked her, and cursed her—for the fan art and fan fiction related to the AMC show. It’s shameful, not only because the two have absolutely nothing in common, but because they claim the show has improved, deepened, and beautified Anne’s canon—and then they come and steal from her books??? Give me a break, you clowns.
The event will take place in September, from September 24 to September 30.
Submissions must be tagged with deromanusevent to be shared in the coven. If you notice that we have unintentionally missed your work, please contact us so that we can include it in the event.
Each day will be accompanied by two prompts; you can manage them as you prefer, either by choosing one or both or by combining them.
The event rules are those that have always accompanied our events, namely respect for Anne Rice, the canon of her books, the characters, and their stories.
Any kind of work is welcome:
-fanfiction
-fanart
-aesthetic
-moodboard
-poetry
-cosplay
-music etc…
Please note that we will only accept works that celebrate love and respect for Anne Rice books, canon, and characters. We will not accept anything that could be misinterpreted or that could give rise to doubt or confusion or artwork or other creations related to the AMC show—our coven is closely tied to the canon of Anne Rice’s books and to her way of writing, seeing, feeling, and interpreting her characters and stories. This community was founded with the purpose and passion to celebrate Anne Rice and her work, and to serve as a place of connection and positive sharing among fans of her books. We are not interested in reinterpretations of any kind, nor in “new ways” of reading or viewing her work or her characters.
We also remind you that our events are intended only for fans of the books and those who love the characters belonging to the canon of Anne Rice's books.
Thank you very much in advance to everyone who will be participating in the event. We hope you enjoy yourselves!
Below you will find a preview of the prompts that will accompany us during the event:

HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE ハウルの動く城 2004, dir. Hayao Miyazaki

I have to sit down at this table again—even though I like other characters more than Armand, I’m still stunned by how much nonsense I read about him. But today I’ll probably just focus on the fact that they’re ( show fan) calling us (books fan) racists because we wanted a character faithful to the original, and on top of that, they’re pushing these absurd theories about Marius being racist against Slavs—which is completely untrue. It’s almost laughable that anyone would come to such a conclusion, but aside from that… We book fans are racists because we wanted a character faithful to Armand, a Slav, Marius is racist because, according to them, he speaks ill of Slavs (give me a break 😂), while the fact is that they’re stealing the backstory and artistic references—and what happens to Armand in the books—and mixing it with what happens in the show, to that character who is NOT Armand, taking all of this and erasing the Slavic character to superimpose the one from the show, whose origins and nationality have nothing to do with the Slavic people.... Well, in short, I’d ask myself a couple of questions about who the real racist is—or at least shut up and leave Anne’s books alone. You’re writing nonsense and don’t even realize it—how sad. Anyway, I’d suggest that Book’s Armand be left alone—since you don’t understand him as a character anyway—and instead of stealing stuff from poorly written summaries of TVA and Blood and Gold, just watch the show you like so much and stay out of the book fandom.
marius is not a villain nor an antagonist in tvc, no matter how much you want him to be. he probably has the strongest moral compass out of all the vampires, tbh. but y'all aren't ready for that conversation.

Interview with the Vampire (1994)
Porco Rosso (1992) by Hayao Miyazaki
what an excellent day to love marius de romanus
the misogyny of amc iwtv/tvl is staggering to me. like not only does this entire fandom think a mediocre middle aged white man can erase and rewrite anne rice's iconic story and do it better than her, but the women in the actual show?? they're reduced to serving as sex objects, and given plotlines where they fuck/abuse their sons, and the men think they can save them from their circumstances, and they suffer meaninglessly.
this show hates women.

At this point, I don’t even get angry anymore—it just makes me laugh—because when I see people who have the nerve to write that Marius is, by definition, a pedophile, I just want to ask them where they get the nerve to write such bullshit. Marius, who, by all accounts, rescues abused, mistreated, abandoned, or sold children, raising them and giving them the chance to become students at an art school, thereby ensuring them a future and a comfortable life. Students who would later return to visit him and thank him. By all accounts, Marius was family and everything most dear to these children—Riccardo’s story is a clear example of this. Anne never portrayed or suggested in any way that Marius should be seen or considered a predator; he was always a role model, a mentor, someone to rely on. And there’s nothing in the canon that contradicts this. You’ve been a pain in the ass with this bullshit, without even getting into the fact that he’s a vampire—with all that entails.
