Hello! And welcome to the whump gifmaking challenge! I'm your host @aceofwhump and I'm excited to bring another year of a whump challenge specifically created with gifmakers and visual artists in mind.

The challenge begins in August!

Rules:

All gifs posted must be made by you. Do not just post gifs using the gif keyboard and claim them as yours and do not repost other people’s gifs. No AI-generated content please.

Various mediums are welcome! So long as the visual art aspect is the focus you can make whatever you want. Yes this is primarily a gifmaking challenge so everything is geared towards that but any visual art is welcome. If you draw, make moodboards, edits, videos, etc you’re welcome to participate!

You can use the prompts however you like. There is no wrong way to use a prompt. Feel free to interpret them however you wish. If you think it counts as whump? It's whump! Make it! Angst, comfort, emotional whump, small things, big things, it all counts so no need to over think it.

Tag all potential triggers (things like emeto, gore, nsfw, blood, eye whump, rape/noncon, etc.) When in doubt, tag it.

Hello everybody, if you haven't yet seen our latest post, it is official: Bechloe Week 2026 is underway!!

That being said I wanted to get some things out of the way and the schedule out before our messages are flooded with concerns and questions (but don't be afraid to reach out anytime)

July 20th (at the latest): Poll results closely followed by the official Bechloe Week schedule.

Every year I see the same questions: "why are the days spread out so much?" "why is it taking so long" "why is Bechloe week a month away" etc.

Simply the page is run by few people, namely me, alone some years. Thankfully I've had help from some cool people (@ridiculously-over-obsessed) but in the end I'm working hard to make things run as smoothly as possible. That being said, we'd appreciate some patience this year because it is coming, promise. Also Bechloe week is a month away to give people time to create what they want to publish. There's been some trial and error in that department...

Welcome to Dead Dove Summer! A casual 18+ fanwork event!

The purposes of this event are as follows:

Present a list of prompts that are kinky, dark and/or taboo.

Present a casual timeline of creation to take the pressure off of creating something immediately.

Have fun and share our stuff with each other while keeping everything labeled. Think of this like a cake convention. If you don't want red velvet, don't take a slice ;)

In the next few days I'll be posting the bingo boards and some basic guidelines/ideas for how people can do this event. As the mod, I plan to be participating myself, so I will be fairly hands off save for answering asks, posting submissions to this blog and maybe creating a collection on Ao3.

Possible FAQ:

Q: The mod is StarlightCaptivator? Does this mean this event is Transformers fandom only?

A: Nope! Though I don't expect this event to go much further than TF fandom. TF is a fandom ripe for dark and kinky topics explored in a way that is much more palatable for some folks. Do what you want though, I'm not your mom.

Q: So is this a Fanfiction only event?

A: Nope! Fic or art is welcome. Of course, being hosted on Tumblr means we have some.... visual restrictions, but as long as the links are above board, links to bluesky, pixiv or other sites that host content tumblr doesn't are cool. Or try on tumblr, still not your mom. (another perk of tf fandom, to be honest)

Q: What If I don't want to tag stuff?

A: Then this event may not be for you! It's literally on the bag! Tags within chapters are cool, Art will need to be tagged by the artist, not just tossed into submission willy-nilly. I'm trying to have fun here too you know.

Before we began I'd like to say something very important

IT'S BECHLOE, not Bhloe. As much as we love Amy and the recognition of their ship, Bechloe came first and it's what stuck so lets end this odd debate that I've seen around the internet.

On that note, a vote will take place to see how many people are interested in Bechloe Week 2026 (it'll take place in August like normal). The poll will last 3 days and then we'll be back.
