Shepard sits bolt upright in bed, panting, eyes wide then slowly sinks back, fighting tears. Liara wakes and looks at her with infinite sympathy. She curls her arms around her and pets her hair.

Liara: I have you.

Shep: C-can't...*sniff!* Can't stop, too much screaming.

Liara: I know.

Shep: Hurt people...too many...all dead...

Liara: It's over. I've got you.

Shep: H-hurt everyone...Saw them all die...

Liara: They didn't. None of us did.

Shep: I-I know...*sniff!* still saw it...

Liara: I know. *slow, gentle hair strokes* I'm here.

Shep: Th-thank...*sniff!* Th-thank...

Liara: Always. Just do one thing for me. Relax as best you can, and breathe. Deeply, into your center, not with your shoulders.

Shep: *slow deep breaths. Starts to calm down. Eyes meet.* I love you so much.

Liara: So do I. *kiss, pulls to chest* Here. I promise, I won't let go. Just breathe.

Shep: *slow breaths, eases into her.*

Liara: Just breathe.

Shep: *expression relaxes*

Liara: Are you asleep?

Shep: Mmmmmn.

Liara: We should probably go to bed. *Moves*

Shep: Noooooo...

Liara: Hm?

Shep: Keep petting my haaaaair...

Liara: *Giggles* I can pet you in bed too.

Shep: That means moooooviiiiing...

Liara: How long do you plan on lying here?

Shep: Foreverrrr...

Liara: Shepard!

Shep: ... *Nuzzles*

A few days after Sovereign is destroyed, the Normandy's been hunting for traces of Saren's forces, Shepard lies back on her bed in a tanktop and her underwear.

Shep: *sigh* something explode already.

*Door chimes. Shepard stands and answers it.*

Liara: H-hello Shepard.

Shep: Oh! Hey, what's up?

Liara: Um...Could I...Would it be all right if I stayed here tonight?

Shep: Is everything okay?

Liara: Yes, I'm fine. It's just...*blushes a little* I miss you.

Shep:*Smiles* I miss you too.

Liara: Then...

Shepard: *Pulls her into her arms* Of course you can stay. *kiss* In fact, stay every night from now on.

*Shep comes home late from doing whatever and tries to go to bed all stealthy and Liara's totally awake*

Liara: Good evening, how can I be of service?

Shep: *not missing a beat* Well well! Good evening miss. I hope you can help me. You see, I'm trying to get home to my bondmate, but the road's left me weary and I can't go on any further today.

Liara: Oh dear! Please, come in, you're more than welcome to stay with me for the night.

Shep: *crawls into bed next to her* Thank you kindly.

Liara: *Snuggles close* Mmmm. What does your bondmate look like? Maybe I can help you find her.

Shep: Her name's Liara. Smooth blue skin, full luscious lips *kiss* perfect supple curves *runs hands over hips* and this wonderful little patch of freckles right across her nose.

Liara: Mmmm, she sounds wonderful.
