some of y’all would rather your favorite be on a losing team as long as their stats look good instead of being a big contributing piece on a winning team. especially coming from a winning culture, paige understands that everybody has a role and that winning has always come before individual numbers. the way she talked about azzi’s role wasn’t an insult, it was praise. she was giving credit to everything azzi does that helps the team win, even if it doesn’t always show up in the box score. y’all put these high expectations on what you thought her rookie season should look like, and now you’re upset because it doesn’t match the narrative you created. there’s a big difference between being a role player and playing your role. azzi is playing her role exactly the way the team needs her to, and that’s a huge reason they’re winning. be happy they’re winning instead of obsessing over who gets the most shots or the best stats.
