Cora gritted her teeth and kicked the earth beneath her feet, forcing herself forward. She could hear the careful footing of the wolf behind her and smirked. Erica had gotten stealthier and as much as Derek would like to say it was all thanks to him, all of them knew it was the combined effort of the pack that helped all of them advance. Seeing the clearing up ahead, Cora dug her feet into the dirt and sprinted through the forest, only a few feet ahead of Erica.

Sibling Bond

Derek doesn’t usually ask the pack for cuddles, he doesn’t really know how to even if he wants to, so when Cora comes and curls up next to him on the couch, he’s a little shocked. However, he’s not entirely surprised. Out of all his siblings, Cora had always been the one who could read him most easily. Laura had her moments and could usually guess what was on his mind…but Cora, she somehow always knew how he was feeling and why.

When Cora lifts his arm and puts it around her, curling up into his side, Derek huffs. He eyes her for a moment, breathing through his nose and waiting for her to say something. He doesn’t really see the point. They both know what he’s thinking. Why did they have to talk about it?

Cora feels Derek's muscles tense at the physical contact. He's been staring blankly at the television screen for hours and, honestly, if it hadn't been playing a Twilight marathon, Cora probably wouldn't have thought twice about it. But when she'd paused to do a double take she noticed the emptiness to Derek's gaze and the sour scent wafting through his pores. And she knew, like she always did, what was going through his head. It was like her sixth sense. Some people knew ghosts, Cora knew her brother.

Cora glances at him and quirks an eyebrow, waiting. She knows Derek is stubborn about his feelings, but she also knows that he can't keep them bottled up forever. His feelings, and his secrets, are what can break him if he keeps them to himself.

"Derek," Cora mutters quietly, still gazing at him and keeping her face carefully blank. The last thing she wants is to scare the idiot off.
