So the SNF is a fucking disaster. I'm going to try to get her into one with better reviews. This place just ain't it.

Their AC can't keep up with the heat, so people are stuck sweating it out at 110 degrees. They brought her a fan, but that's a fucking OSHA violation, so, like, not encouraging. At least she's cool, I guess. Basic amenities are just missing. Food is bad, and she already has trouble eating. Etc., etc.

The aid said that their therapy is great here, but she can't focus on therapy if the living conditions are so subpar.

I've made myself sick this past week over getting her transferred here. Now I have to keep making myself sick trying to get her transferred somewhere else. I don't know how much longer my body can hold out.

She can't just come home though. I couldn't take care of her before and I definitely can't take care of her now that I've worked/stressed myself to near death.

The SNF we're trying to get her into told us yesterday that she would be approved and able to be transferred today. I noticed it was already past two with no word, so I called.

THERE IS NO ONE WORKING IN THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE TODAY.

Fortunately, the woman I spoke to said she could have one of the people in admissions call me. Apparently this person is working, she's just not in the office, for whatever reason.

I am going to kill myself.

I'm going to fucking puke. Mom's case manager said that the skilled nursing facility won't take her because Blue Cross Blue Shield is her primary insurance. Even though she has Medicare Part A, which they do take.

I can't go up there to try to figure things out. I have to wait for this fucking lift chair to be delivered.

She can't come home in this condition.

We're doing our best to figure this out. Her case manager has found a place who MIGHT be able to take her.

One of the issues we're having is that her insurance seems to be telling every SNF facility the case manager calls that Ma has a 3,200$ deductible, which isn't true. She's been receiving treatment for cancer for SIX. MONTHS. Her deductible is well past met. We'll be paying MD Anderson that deductible for the next five years.

So now we need to get with her insurance company and figure that out. She can absolutely get into some of these places if we don't have to pay them THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AMERICAN DOLLARS up front.

Looks like we've managed it. It's not the facility we wanted, but her case manager said she's never had any complaints from this place. They should be able to get her in by tomorrow at the latest. Then she'll be in for 2 or 3 weeks, maybe less if she feels she's ready to come home before then.

We just need to get her fully back on her feet, or enough so that PT at home will be enough to finish the job. Then we'll be out of this mess.

As someone who was spanked as a kid, I am now 100% against corporal punishment.

That said, when I see some of the shit people let their kids do, I can't help but to think, "And why is their ass unbeat?"

Swear to GOD, folks think the spectrum is beat they ass <--> let them get away with murder. There has GOT to be a happy medium.

I swear, Ma thinks we're made of money. She wants me to Uber up there AGAIN. I only go on Tuesdays and Thursdays to SAVE. MONEY. Because she ISN'T. WORKING. That's totally understandable, I wouldn't expect her to work through all of this, but that means we have ONE. INCOME. And we just had to blow almost 3k on a LIFT. CHAIR.

It's, like, thirty bucks a ride, man. I've spent NINETY dollars on Ubers for Thursday, Friday, and now today.
