I really really really really loved the movie. Like honestly. Haven't checked many reviews or reactions yet because I wanted to go in blind but truthfully I enjoyed the movie and it was just a lot of fun.

Rotta was surprisingly enjoyable i was a bit concerned when I saw him in the trailer but I like how they made his character complex and how hes good. That was a pleasant surprise.

I wasn't expecting this movie to be how the Hutt empire kinda dies (assuming it does after this) but man am I glad that their last real stronghold fell cuz like I hate the Hutts so much. Glad Rotta broke free of those generational chains.

I enjoyed Zeb being there but no Kallus mention 😭😭 "where's his husband" i scream and shout while shaking Dave Filoni. But I understand I think the general public would crashout if that was even hinted out. Star Wars cant be gay they say even though it is super gay.

I loved the fight scenes and lowkey Mando is like terrifying. Like Jedi level eldritch horror terrifying. He can take out as many people as a lone jedi can and like always gets back up always has another weapon its really scary to think about those implications.

This movie felt like an 80s fantasy adventure movie in a way I didnt see coming. The water monsters, the sort of multiple quests to get to the end fight bit, the premise for the adventure and how they get out of things being not the most thought through, the magic cure to heal Mando, puppet characters being main characters. Man we are so back.

It was just really fun. No it didnt add much to the overall star wars plot, no it had nothing to do with thrawn, no they didnt explain all the rebels connections, no it wasnt groundbreaking. But it was a great adventure. And honestly it doesnt have to connect to the greater big plot about thrawn and the rise of the first order (if theyre not retconning that soon) its just a fun adventure with heart and solid plot and music and moments that make you laugh and cry.

Were never gonna get another original trilogy again. Nothing can fully recapture that magic. And it shouldn't. This does however capture the star wars magic of entrancing you into a story and making you feel like a kid again. The group of middle aged men sitting next to me were giggling throughout the whole thing like ten year olds thats the point. The nerdy middle school kids showed up with handmade mando helmets (seriously so impressive) and got so excited when the lights dimmed. Thats the point. Thats the star wars magic and hope.

Semantics over little details is fun but gets us nowhere ultimately. This movie did not go like I theorized it would but I loved it nonetheless. It felt like watching season 1 of mando again. I felt so happy. I think this is one thats gonna age really well.

Ill probably go watch it again and rant some more.

I hate that I enjoyed it so much. Like unfortunately animated kids shows with a touch of horror and mystery are my favorite thing in the whole world so like of course I watched it.

It definitely felt like they were reheating Jurassic Parks's Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory's nachos, especially in the first half of the show.

HOT TAKE but I liked this evolution of the upside down a heck of a lot more than s3-5 take on the upside down. Like I didn't care for the fleshiness of s3 and the Vecna stuff is so poorly thought out that it has always upset me. If they would've went with a plot like this for season 3, included more of the adults involvement I could see it being way more of a satisfying end of the show. Like Nikki could help Will accept his gayness (cuz that girl is so obviously lesbian to me ok she just is), and like give Will a break like ya know someone in his corner when the party goes all Girl crazy.

If this show is cannon it creates like a bazillion plot holes, like what happened to Nikki, why would they never tell the adults (IF YOU SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING GOD DAMNIT), what about the evolution of the queen plant monster at the end, etc etc.

To me it's not cannon but more of a what if type shows that reminds us the Duffers are like the worst writers in the world.

the craziest thing to me is that this show gave us more mileven development than all of the 5 seasons combined. Like them actually speaking to each other and growing as people and supporting each other that is what I wanted to see. If you knew mileven was always end game why frame byler that way, why give so much attention to it, why have will suffer more and more for the sake of a queerbait. It pmo but what else is new. This is how mileven should've been protrayed in the show. I've never had a problem with mileven as a couple, but compared to how mike and will were portrayed in the show they were obviously in love with each other (I literally picked up on that back when I watched the first seasons when I was like 13ish)

speaking of will I loved how cool he was in the show, dealing with his trauma from the upside down but jumping into action anyways, standing by Nikki, standing up to Mike when he was being a bit of a jerk like yes Will stand your ground!

so i dunno I loved the show for what it is, wished it we could've gotten actual stranger things like that, and yeah it was alright

Most of them are surprisingly good

But the big thoughts about it are not good at all

why cant I listen to Heroes by Bowie without having violent war flashbacks to like three separate
