currently   living   in   the   same   trailer   park  .   met   while   cherry   was   searching   for   her   runaway   rottweiler   who   yanked   himself   free   of   his   leash   while   she   was   taking   him   for   a   walk  .   bradley   helped   her   track   spike   down ,   petted   him   profusely ,   flicked   his   fringe   with   a   careless   roll   of   his   head   and   told   her   she   was ,   quote ,   pretty   cute  .   love   the   hair  .   cherry   fell   in   love   almost   immediately  .

they   exchanged   phone   numbers   and   she   tends   to   spend   the   better   part   of   most   nights   talking   away   to   him   and   texting   throughout   the   day  .   she   dislikes   texting   because   he   tends   to   send   offhand   one  to   seven   word   sentences   in   response   to   just   about   everything  .   her   mom   and   dad   are   generally   too   coked   up   to   remember   anything  .

a   lot   of   their   relationship   is   them   bonding   over   shared   shitty   childhoods  .   cherry   has   told   bradley   about   the   time   she   walked   in   on   her   dad   snorting   a   heap   of   cocaine   out   of   her   mom’s   breasts   /   brassiere   cups   and   he’s   told   her   about   how   his   dad   used   to   lock   him   in   the   closet   with   a   nintendo   as   a   toddler   while   he   banged   it   out   with   some   sex   worker   he   picked   up   off   the  streets ,   to   give   you   an   idea   of   what   their   conversations   generally   entail  .

it’s   implied   that   bradley   is   talking   with   multiple   girls   unbeknown   to   cherry ,   but   she   would   likely   dismiss   them   as   nothing   to   worry   about   anyway ;   he   loves   her  !   what   they   have   is   special  .

they   meet   up   late   at   night   to   sit   on   the   roofs   of   their   trailers   and   stargaze ,   or   slope   off   to   some   graffiti   riddled   park   with   garbage   abound   to   sit   and   talk   on   the   swings ,   or   sit   in   a   24   hour   mcdonalds   and   buy   large   strawberry   milkshake   with   two   straws   and   fries   and   all   that   good   crap  .   

they   walk   hand   in   hand   just   about   everywhere  .   have   not   smooched   yet  .   don’t   generally   use   pet   names ,   though   bradley   has   busted   out   with   the   occasional   babe   and   she   affectionately   calls   him   brad  .

cherry   rarely   talks   about   him   and   gets   pissy   when   people   try   to   pry   into   their   relationship  .   the   fastest   way   to   get   her   in   a   bad   mood   is   to   read   messages   from   him   aloud   that   flash   up   on   her   home   screen   or   interrupt   her   when   she’s   on   the   phone   with   him  .   she   continues   calling   him   while   she’s   underground   and   complaining   about   her   general   situation  .   he   tells   her   he   misses   her  .

he   has   a   lot   more   disdain   for   formal   education   than   she   does   and   encourages   her   to   skip   school  .   cherry   is   more   hesitant   because   the   rare   times   she   stays   somewhere   long   enough   to   enroll   in   the   local   school   she   generally   likes   to   attend   every   day   so   as   to   not   ever   come   across   thick   or   uneducated   in   later   life  .   her   begrudging   compromise   is   that   she’ll   skip   with   him ,   but   secretly   take   the   work   she   missed   home   and   complete   it   there  .   might   take   out   a   few   more   books   from   the   library   too  .
