Softy Kitty, Warm Kitty

In a combination of driving, looking for the house, and calling, the new housekeeper ound herself to be a little stressed to say the least. Mostly however, she was worried she’d show up late and loose this job which she seriously needed at the moment so she found herself saying ‘sorry’ multiple times during their call.

Eventually, she was able to make out a cabin in the distence, she found it at long last. However, as she got closer she noticed something “different” about this client. His lower half was that of a big cat while his upper half was that if a regular person. Though she couldn’t recal ever seeing someone like this, she certianly wasn’t one to talk. Her hat (a simple wool knitted cap) as well as a part of her long skirt moving a tad to remind her that. But perhaps this was a good thing, maybe she would be able to free herself from hiding at least for a while and not have to worry about the judgement of those who deemed themselves normal.

As soon as she parked, she unlocked the door and stepped out of her car. She was a young (20’s looking) woman with long thick copper hair and sapphire blue eyes which at the moment along with the rest of her face expressed sheer embarrassment. “I am so sorry I’m late. I promise not to be this tardy again.” Her voice was shaky and filled with worry.

Tobias ended up waiting on the porch for her, a smile appearing when he saw the unfamiliar car coming around the bend. Mostly because he could see her in the front seat; The picture matched what his mother had sent him a few days before, when she was originally hired.

He carefully hopped down over the steps, padding up to her as she stepped out of her car. “It’s okay,” he was quick to assure her. “The house isn’t the easiest thing to find, especially for the first time. You’re fine, honest.” Now that he was getting a better look at her, specifically in person, Tobias knew that things were going to be perfectly fine; Humans had their specific scent, after all.

“I’m really sorry. My parents should have warned you better. The house really is in the middle of nowhere.” So here he was; On the phone with a girl that was supposed to help him with the housekeeping. Trying to help her find her way to the actual house. “Once you’re on the right road, it’s pretty much the only way down... Do you see the picnic bench yet?”

    “You… sure?” he asked in rather indignation, feeling somewhat offended at them. Their answer appears quite confusing to the ghoul… the other said they had been followed by someone who had the odour of blood. But wasn’t he too… covered with that scent? 

    “Aren’t you confusing with me and them? Because I damn well know I do emanate a stench similar to them too.” There was no need for him to not disclose one of the flaws of his body carried, which was the foul-smelling. He thought it was better to be straightforward than to lie in this case. 

    “Look… ” Swinging his head from side to side before shifting his weight and face the other, though, the height between them was different so he slightly lower his head to confront his charcoal hues with theirs, “I think you’re too paranoid over this. I don’t see any of these bloody people you are talking about.”

Someone who didn’t get scents... Well, Tobi supposed he shouldn’t be surprised. But now it left him in a situation he wasn’t sure how to deal with; It would be like explaining the definition of ‘the’, at least for him, and left the feline floundering for a moment.

“N...No, it’s... It’s still different,” he started to explain, eyes occasionally darting around the area. “There’s a difference between blood that should be there, and blood that shouldn’t. Your scent is...bad. Like rotting? But the blood I smell on you is underlying. All I can smell is blood on them.” His hands waved about as he spoke, tail, though still unseen, tucked between his legs.

Normally I can deal with the stupid changes that tumblr makes. The color changes, I can understand. Switching the buttons around? Whatever, that’s purely aesthetic. But this? This is actually messing with my browser as a whole. It’s making it actually impossible to enjoy tumblr.

Eira wanted to laugh at such a reaction, mortals really were dramatic, but would have to refrain due to the wound. Why Ciar always decided to let himself get hit in the chest was beyond this one.

❝That I am it would seem. Don’t bother, I just need… somewhere to rest.❞  Probably not the most believable thing to say to when you’re stumbling around bleeding, but having to burden anyone over something that happens more frequently than this one would like wasn’t something he wanted. ❝I’ll be fine if I just rest.❞

“That’s not something that looks like it’ll be fine.” Quite the opposite, actually. But Tobias wasn’t a healer. He barely knew first aid. His tail twitched, constantly moving now as he tried to figure out what to do. “Y-You still need to get somewhere if you’re going to rest. I...uh... Please, let me help.”

         He finds himself glancing down at his attire, knowing that they were not fit at all for the cold but he was limited in clothing in general so he wore what he had and suffered. When he’d get cold he’d keep himself moving to stay warm and he liked to stay active so that was a plus for him since his clothing situation was lacking good coverage. 

          His eyes find their way back to where the other was and he’s raising a pale hand, wiggling it in that ‘so so’ manner. He was cold now that he was standing still but if he was moving he’d feel better but he’d live with a little cold. He’s shrugging after a moment and smiling, waving a hand for the other to come out more. They couldn’t have a conversation this far apart, could they? Then again it was more him making gestures and the other talking but you know, life.

Odd. Why wasn’t he talking? Unless the stranger found it a little weird to be calling out to someone across a clearing like this. Which it probably was; Still Tobi was reluctant to actually approach him, withdrawing a bit as he motioned for Tobi to move closer. If there had been more bushes or something, there wouldn’t have been as much as an issue. But there weren’t... And it’d be rude to say no, wouldn’t it?

The clinic was always open, even so late at night.  Not everyone could go to a hospital and when emergencies happened there wasn’t a way to stop them.

After the first knock there was a few seconds of silence behind the door before a loud meawl was heard.  Sounding more like a banshee than any kind of cat.  Moments later the door was opened and an old woman with no eyes stared at the trio.

“Oh my god.” she muttered before ushering the family inside.  “PROMETHEUS!” she bellowed before looking to a small white house cat nearby “Lucy, go wake Soc.”  With that the feline darted up the stairs while the witch helped the father to carry his son into the infirmary.

“Right here,” she spoke when they reached the first empty bed, helping the boy to sit down comfortably on it without making his leg inaccessible.  First things first is they needed to stop the bleeding.  Ma’at reached into a nearby drawer and pulled out an official tourniquet than the makeshift one already around the boy’s leg.  She cinched it around his leg enough to significantly slow down the bleeding.

“I’m here!  I’m here!” a young woman with white hair called as she ran towards them, finishing tying her apron.

“Soc, I need you to get me some disinfectant, bandages, a brace and some sewing materials.  I’ll get the pain medication and blood.”  the doctor ordered as she then turned to the parents while the girl ran off “What’s his blood type?”

Tobi was trying his hardest not to cry; His leg hurt so badly, still forcing a few whimpers out as he moved, but he didn’t want to cry over it. His ‘sitting’ really was more like halfway lying down, his injured leg sticking out so that the old woman could get to it. Dimly he noticed her lack of eyes, the mirrors seeming to take their place... But his parents certainly didn’t say anything about it; They’d been taking care of Tobias long enough to not be as swayed by strange things.

Besides, she seemed perfectly capable. That was the more important thing at the moment, not whether or not she had proper eyes.

There’s a wince as the proper tourniquet was placed above the wound, the feline worrying at his lip as he listened to the conversation nearby. “W-We...” The pause was probably longer than it should have been, his parents glancing at each other.
