🧟   ――――          MERLE  DESPISED  THE  DIVIDE  THAT'S  BEEN  FORMED  BETWEEN  HIM  AND  HIS  LITTLE  BROTHER.  he  had  no  one  else  in  this  world  besides  daryl,  and  he  knew  he  would  be  lost  without  him;  he  was  for  a  while.  when  the  governor  took  him  in  after  fending  for  himself  for  so  long,  the  hole  in  his  heart  was  filled  but  only  momentarily.  it  didn't  take  him  long  to  realize  that  no  one  cared  for  him  like  his  brother  did.  he  wanted  to  do  everything  in  his  power  to  prove  to  daryl  that  he  was  willing  to  change;  he  just  needed  to  be  given  that  chance,  but  merle  knew  he  had  to  earn  it.  his  eyes  roll  upwards  at  daryl's  come  back  and  a  small  sarcastic  chuckle  emits  from  his  lips,        ❛      yeah,  prolly,  but  you  didn't  stick  up  for  me,  brother.  what  the  hell  is  up  with  that     ?     what  happened  to  blood,  to  family     ?     i'm  your  family,  not  that  fucking  cop     !!      ❜     he  exclaimed  back  at  him,  knowing  this  wasn't  the  way  to  show  daryl  he  was  going  to  be  better  for  him  and  their  relationship.  he  couldn't  help  but  still  feel  betrayed  by  him,  abandoned  on  that  rooftop.  did  he  even  bother  to  look  for  him?  merle  huffed  and  took  the  water  that  was  offered  to  him,  aggressively,  and  takes  a  long  swig.  you  need  to  cool  it,  merle  boy,  he  thought  to  himself.  he  hands  it  back,  his  actions  were  gentler  this  time,  and  he  scratches  the  back  of  his  neck.  another  roll  of  his  eyes  occurs  again  at  daryl's  words,        ❛      think  i  had  a  choice,  brother     ?     i  had  nowhere  else  to  go   [   .  .  .  .   ]      ❜     he  said  softly,  the  urge  to  fight  began  to  disappear  as  he  didn't  want  to  cause  more  tension  between  them   —   especially  since  their  travels  had  a  long  way  to  go.  he  shrugged,        ❛      let's  get  goin'  then,  keep  movin'.      ❜

🧟   ――――          RICK  COULD  SEE  THE  PREDICAMENT  THEY  WERE  THRUST  INTO  DURING  THEIR  JOURNEY  FOR  SUPPLIES.  the  hoard  of  walkers  seemed  to  grow  bigger  and  bigger  as  they  approached  with  hefty  speed.  rick's  hand  gripped  the  handle  of  his  pistol  tightly,  ready  to  fight  and  survive.  he  looked  over  at  javier  and  nodded,        ❛      if  we  head  back  into  the  building,  we  can  escape  through  the  back  without  em'  noticin'   —      ❜     he  suggested,  beginning  to  step  back  towards  the  double  doors  of  the  building.

🧟   ――――          AARON  WASN'T  SURE  IF  IT  WAS  A  GOOD  IDEA  TO  LET  CAROLINE  TAG  ALONG  WITH  HIM.  it  was  a  dangerous  world  beyond  these  walls  and  aaron  learned  that  the  hard  way   –   he  didn't  want  something  bad  to  happen  to  her  or,  potentially,  fatal.  a  deep  sigh  escaped  aaron's  lips,  looking  down  and  then  back  up  to  meet  her  pleading  eyes.  he  could  see  she  desperately  wanted  to  do  this  but  aaron  wasn't  completely  convinced.         ❛       i'm  not  sure  about  this,  caroline.  it's   —   it's  tough  out  there   [   .  .  .  .   ]        ❜

This new world they were forced to live in was all about fighting, and sometimes Kyleigh forgot that not everyone was ready for that. That not everyone was born with a monster inside of them that made them used to violence and darkness. She had only known these people for a short amount of time so she had no idea what they had been through before she came along. But it hadn't taken her long to figure out it was a lot. Probably too much, some of them so tired of the fighting and loss that they wanted to give up. And looking at Rick she could see there had been a few moments now that he felt the same way. To just give up and let Negan rule their lives. As long as it meant no one else in their adopted family had to die. But then she would see glimpses of the man the others spoke about before; the Rick Grimes that took no shit and never let anyone push himself or the people he loved around. And she wanted that Rick to come back. Yes she understood that it was going to take some time, that he needed to grieve just as much as the others before they could start to form a plan. Let him get his mojo back so to speak and then make sure that Negan never forgot that he crossed the wrong people. The half lycan just hoped that the others would be willing to give him that time and still want to fight at the end of it all.

🧟   ――――           HE  KNEW  THAT  WASN'T  WHAT  KYLEIGH  WANTED  TO  HEAR,  BUT  HE  FELT  HE  COULDN'T  REST  UNTIL  HE  DID  SOMETHING  CORRECTLY.  he  couldn't  change  what  had  happened  in  the  past,  but  he  knew  he  could  try  and  do  better  going  forward.  he  had  to  for  the  sake  of  his  family,  his  friends,  and  for  the  community  he's  worked  so  tirelessly  to  build.  he  wished  he  could  make  kyleigh  see  that  too  because  he  wasn't  willing  to  rest  properly,  not  yet.  he  sighed  softly  when  she  placed  her  hands  on  her  hips,  knowing  he  was  going  to  get  a  lecture  from  her,  and  a  part  of  him  felt  he  deserved  it.  he  averted  his  gaze  down  at  his  feet  as  she  spoke,  smiling  small  when  she  insisted  that  he  rested  once  they  returned  from  their  journey  of  scavenging  for  the  saviors.  he  nodded  and  then  finally  looked  back  up  at  her,         ❛      got  it,  boss     ❜     he  replied  playfully,  a  corner  of  his  lips  twitching  into  an  amused  grin.  one  thing  he  could  always  count  on  kyleigh  for  was  to  tell  him  the  truth.  she  was  bold  and  confident,  he  saw  that  fire  within  her,  and  he  was  grateful  to  have  her  on  his  side.  he  was  going  to  make  sure  she  knew  that.        ❛      let's  go  when  it  gets  dark.  we  can  cover  our  tracks  better   —      ❜      he  advised,  approaching  her  and  placing  his  hands  comfortingly  on  her  shoulders.  he  looked  in  her  eyes  intently  before  speaking,        ❛       thank  you.  i   —   i  needed  this.       ❜

ONCE  THE  SUN  HAD  SET  AND  THE  MOON  HAD  RISEN,  RICK  MADE  HIS  WAY  OVER  TO  KYLEIGH'S  HOUSE  DOWN  THE  BLOCK.  he  had  packed  a  few  bags  of  supplies  for  himself  and  for  the  both  of  them  including:  clothes,  bottled  water,  canned  food,  tools,  and,  of  course,  weapons.  an  axe,  a  hunter's  knife,  and  ammo  for  his  pistol  in  case  they  found  themselves  in  a  rather  hairy  situation.  he  knocked  quietly  and  waited  for  kyleigh  to  answer  the  door,  offering  her  a  warm  smile  once  she  had  done  so.  he  canted  his  head  to  the  street,        ❛     y'sure  you  still  wanna  do  this     ?      i  got  no  problem  headed  out  by  myself      ❜     he  asked  her,  wanting  to  make  sure  she  felt  comfortable  leaving  the  town  for  a  few  days,  leaving  comforts  behind. 

She wanted to prove her worth.

The group that Carl had been a part of, while welcoming to the girl, hadn't permitted her to help. She was a good scavenger, able to slip in and out of places with relative ease, but no! It was too dangerous for her. That's why she had snuck away from the group, armed with only her knife. Ellie had been gone longer than expected; three days she spent alone out past the walls of Alexandria, hiding and scavenging. The day she had decided she wanted to come back, was when things had gone to shit. She hadn't heard them shuffling behind her.

Her pack as heavy as can be, Ellie bangs on the gates, hits them so hard her hands hurt; she's desperate. Never once does she stop hitting the gates even though it's killing her until they open, just enough for her to slip inside. Her shirt hidden by her hoodie, is beginning to feel wet, clinging to her.

❝Carl?❞

He's on the approach, fast and Ellie's certain something is up. Catching her by surprise, Carl pushes her — she winces, stumbling backwards until she is able to steady herself. ❝What the fuck?❞ Shocked, Ellie hisses at Carl, pushing him back in return. The action tugs at something painful and for a second, the girl needs to stop. Her side is killing her! The pain, now beginning to bother her, has crept onto her face.

🧟   ――――          CARL  DIDN'T  KNOW  IF  SHE  WAS  STILL  ALIVE.  each  passing  day  he  went  without  knowing  her  whereabouts  or  her  safety  only  caused  his  concern  to  deepen;  worry  flooded  his  mind  through  the  nights  he  spent  sleepless  and  when  he  did  sleep,  he'd  wake  up  in  a  cold  sweat  from  a  nightmare  that  plagued  his  slumber.  ellie  was  his  only  true  friend  here  in  alexandria.  he  hardly  ever  saw  enid  and  when  she  was  around,  she  mostly  kept  to  herself.  but,  when  ellie  became  part  of  the  group,  they  had  instantly  connected  and  created  a  bond  that  carl  didn't  think  was  possible  with  the  way  the  world  was  today.  so,  of  course,  he  was  terrified  for  her  well-being.  he  didn't  want  to  lose  her.

SO  WHEN  HE  SAW  HER  ENTER  PAST  THE  GATES  OF  ALEXANDRIA,  HE  WAS  WASHED  WITH  INSTANTLY  RELIEF.  a  heavy,  exasperated  exhale  exited  his  lungs  as  he  approached  her  with  shaky  steps;  unaware  if  he  wanted  to  wrap  his  arms  around  her  in  a  loving  embrace  or  if  he  wanted  to  push  her  because  he  was  so  angry  she  hadn't  come  back  sooner.  he  knew  it  couldn't  have  been  her  fault  for  her  extended  absence  but  he  couldn't  help  it,  he  felt  betrayed,  almost.  his  emotions  got  the  best  of  him  once  he  made  it  to  her  and,  without  really  thinking  about  it,  his  arms  extend  out  and  he  pushes  her,  tears  filled  his  hues.  he  immediately  gets  pushed  in  return,  and  he  stumbles  a  few  steps  back,  his  lips  pressed  into  a  thin,  angry  line.        ❛      are  you  just  going  to  pretend  you  weren't  gone  for  days     ?      what  happened,  eillie     ?     i  didn't  know  what  happened  to  you      ❜     he  replied.  putting  his  anger  with  her  aside,  he  still  grabs  her  bags  for  her  and  swings  them  over  his  shoulder,  still  wanting  to  help  her.  she  looks  a  little  beat  up,  which  only  serves  to  drown  him  in  guilt  for  the  way  he  reacted  to  her  appearance.  he  looks  closer,        ❛      are  you  okay     ?     are  you  bit     ?      ❜

🧟   ――――           ❛      I'M  GLAD  TO  HEAR  THAT,  AIDEN.  there's  nothing  more  that  can  make  me  happy  than  to  see  you  happy  and  fuck,  i'm  glad  to  have  you  back  right  where  you  belong.  i'm  dyin'  to  pick  up  right  where  we  left  off.  what  do  you  say,  darlin'     ?       ❜      he  asked,  his  eyebrows  wiggling  seductively  as  he  scooted  closer  and  closer  to  her,  placing  his  large  hand  on  her  knee,  rubbing  slowly.

After he saved her from almost being jumped by those two boys Negan didn't give her much of an option about teaching her to defend herself. This was a skill that had never been a priority to develop, since the main thing to fight nowadays was Walkers and other people, and the Whisperers didn't do much of either. Other than fighting people outside of themselves. But they always had the element of surprise on their side, so she never had to try very hard.

What had once been Henry's staff is cast aside in the grass a few feet away, Negan insisting she needs to learn how to fight without it. In case she's ever caught without it, like she had almost been a few days before. Her arms ache from the effort and she feels like if she laid in the grass next to her staff she'd sleep through the night right there.

🧟   ――――            NEGAN  NEVER  HAD  SEEN  HIMSELF  TAKING  SUCH  A  LIKING  TO  A  CHILD.  he  always  wondered  what  it  would've  been  like  if  he  and  lucille  never  had  gotten  divorced  and  ended  up  having  the  family  they  always  had  spoken  about.  lydia  grew  to  be  like  a  daughter  to  negan.  he  wanted  to  make  sure  she  was  able  to  protect  herself  from  danger  and  not  just  the  walkers  that  surrounded  them  endlessly  but  humans  as  well.  in  many  ways,  mankind  was  still  the  largest  threat  to  humanity,  the  good  part  of  it  all.  that  had  been  proven  when  he  found  lydia  and  had  saved  her  from  two  boys  attempting  to  hurt  her.  he  needed  to  make  sure  she  was  safe;  she  was  one  of  the  good  ones.  one  of  the  few  people  here  that  treated  him  like  a  human-being   —   after  everything  he's  done,  he  knew  he  didn't  deserve  it  but  it  was  nice  to  talk  to  someone  that  didn't  see  him  as  the  monster  he  used  to  be.  he  wanted  to  change,  but  how  was  he  supposed  to  when  it  was  essentially  ostracized  from  the  community?  this  is  why  he  mostly  kept  to  himself,  and  with  good  reason.

HE  PROMPTED  HER  TO  PLACE  HER  FISTS  UP  IN  POSITION,  READY  TO  CONTINUE  THEIR  TRAINING  IN  COMBAT.  he  wanted  her  to  know  everything  that  there  was  so  she  could  properly  protect  herself  when  the  time  comes   —   which  it  will,  it  always  does.  lydia's  question  throws  him  for  a  loop,  not  expecting  for  that  to  come  out  of  her  mouth,  but  he  wasn't  bothered  by  it.  he  shrugged  slightly,        ❛      myself.  had  to.  got  to  in  a  shitty  world  like  this,  lydia      ❜     he  replied.        ❛      i  had  my  fair  share  of  shitty  people  i  had  to  get  rid  of  or  teach  a  lesson.  you  have  to  look  out  for  yourself.  it  ain't  just  the  walkers  that  you  need  to  watch  your  back  for       ❜      he  added  and  then  began  to  hold  the  punching  bag  in  place  for  her  once  she  was  ready  to  start  throwing  jabs  at  it.  he  chuckled  under  his  breath,        ❛      that's  lesson  one.  lesson  two:  start  punching  the  ever  living  shit  out  of  this.     ❜

🧟   ――――            NEGAN  STEPS  BACK  A  SINGLE  STEP  WHEN  SHE  BEGINS  TO  AGGRESSIVELY  SIGN  AND  MOUTH  AT  HIM.  he  could  tell  he  struck  a  nerve  with  the  pet  name  he  has  chosen  to  give  her,  and  as  much  as  he  knew  he  probably  shouldn't  use  it  again,  how  could  he  not?  she  looked  kinda  adorable,  all  mad  and  shit.  he  liked  it.  a  smirk  overtook  his  lips  as  he  watched  her  write  a  response  and  hold  it  up  on  a  notepad,  reading  it  quickly.  he  nods  at  her,  respectfully,         ❛     alright,  i'll  give  you  that  one  but,  the  more  stupid  shit  you  do,  you  might  end  up  blind  too       ❜      he  told  her,  chuckling  softly  under  his  breath.  negan  allows  her  to  grab  his  jacket  and  tug  her  alongside  him;  which  is  something  he  is  usually  never  compliant  with.  anyone  else  attempted  to  manhandle  him  this  way,  he'd  quickly  teach  them  a  lesson  in  manners,  but  he  had  a  soft  spot  for  connie,  his  little  girl.  he  stopped  her  in  her  tracks,  though,  and  beckons  her  to  stop  and  look  at  him.  he  shook  his  head  at  her  once  they've  made  eye  contact,        ❛      listen,  i'll  help  you  on  whatever  shit  you're  trynna  pull,  but  we  gotta  be  smart  about  it.  if  yer  grand  master  plan  is  to  barge  in  on  these  assholes,  yer  gonna  get  a  beating,  and  not  a  fun  one.  be  smart,  connie,  be  quiet      ❜     he  advised  her  with  raised  eyebrows  and  then  places  a  single  index  finger  upon  his  lips  as  a  gesture  of  silence.         ❛      what's  yer  end  game  here     ?     if  i'm  going  to  help  yer  ass,  i'd  like  to  know  why  and  what  i'm  gettin'  out  of  it      ❜     he  asked  in  a  whisper,  beginning  to  lead  quietly  in  slow,  easy  steps  into  uncharted  territory.

🧟   ――――          THERE  WAS  A  FIRE  WITHIN  AIDEN  THAT  NEGAN  COME  TO  REALLY  APPRECIATE.  it  was  a  fire  that  he  had  seen  within  her  eyes,  that  lit  up  her  features,  when  he  first  met  her.  he  knew  from  that  moment  that  he  just  had  to  have  her.  she  was  brave  and  confident,  always  spoke  her  mind,  even  in  situations  where  she  really  shouldn't.  she  was  bold  enough  to  speak  against  him  whenever  he  would  say  something  out  of  line  and  it  was  something  negan  had  come  to  realize  that  he  needed.  even  though  he  understood  the  words  aiden  would  tell  him  now  and  then,  he  still  did  what  he  felt  was  best  because  he  was  the  one  in  charge,  not  her.  it  would  always  be  negan's  way  or  the  highway,  and  the  highway  wasn't  a  road  you  wouldn't  want  to  take.  nonetheless,  he  missed  hearing  her  voice  and  seeing  her  smile,  even  her  frown.  he  was  happy  to  have  her  back,  and  he  ensured  the  other  wives  would  stay  in  line  and  not  bring  aiden  into  harm's  way  again.  that  wasn't  fair,  he  knew  that,  and  negan  was  all  about  fairness.

HE  GOT  LOST  IN  HER  EYES  EASILY.  the  way  she  looked  at  him  was  unlike  any  other,  and  he  wouldn't  dare  trade  that  for  the  world.  he  chuckled  lustfully  at  her  words,        ❛     oh,  you  know  me  so  well,  baby  doll.  you  always  know  how  to  tickle  my  damn  fancy,  and  it's  one  of  the  reasons  i  love  the  shit  outta  you      ❜     he  replied,  a  smirk  curling  his  lips  as  his  eyes  lingered  at  her  lips,  watching  her  mouth  twitch  as  she  spoke.  he  just  wanted  to  bite  them,  his  tongue  swiping  over  his  bottom  lip  at  the  desirable  thought.  he  leaned  into  her  touch  when  her  hand  cups  his  cheek,  his  free  hand  coming  up  to  rest  upon  hers,  squeezing  lightly  in  a  loving  manner.        ❛      course  i  did.  all  i  thought  'bout  was  you,  especially  on  those  lonely  nights   [   .  .  .  .   ]      ❜     he  snickered,  teeth  digging  into  his  bottom  lip  now,  mouth  watering.  he's  missed  her  so  much,  it's  true,  but  of  course  he  has  to  hide  his  feelings  with  sexual  words  and  thoughts.  he  couldn't  be  too  vulnerable  with  her;  just  enough  to  show  her  that  he  did,  in  fact,  love  her.  in  his  own  twisted  way,  of  course.  he  nodded,        ❛     good  'cause  things  are  gonna  change  'round  here.  no  more  bullshit  with  the  other  girls.  ya'll  need  to  mind  your  space  and  mind  each  other.  i  don't  play  favorites,  aiden,  you  know  this.  i  love  you,  i  do,  but  i  can't  have  anyone  gettin'  into  any  more  of  those  bullshit  cat  fights      ❜     he  stated  firmly,  looking  intently  into  her  eyes.  he  knew  what  happened  wasn't  technically  her  fault,  but  he  didn't  want  this  to  happen  again.  he  warned  her  to  stay  out  of  harm's  way  so  he  didn't  have  to  do  something  he  didn't  want  to  do.  his  lips  instantly  mold  with  hers  once  she  kisses  him,  his  hand  squeezing  hers  just  a  bit  tighter  as  tingles  shivered  down  his  spine.  he  hummed  into  their  wet  kiss,  giggling  softly,        ❛      i  treat  all  of  ya'll  the  same  and  that's  nothin'  short  of  the  best,  baby      ❜     he  told  her  against  her  lips  and  then  kissed  her  again  but  harder  this  time. 

the violently protective sentence starters

An involuntary laugh escapes the woman. She doesn't mean it, not really, but a small part of her doesn't believe him. Tess had things under control, even if she looks like she's worse than those fuckers that lay at her feet. Tongue darts out to wet her lips, the taste of iron is strong paired with the stinging of her lower lip.

❝Now that isnt necessary.❞ Dismissal is quick to jump from Tess, a trusted response for situations like this. ❝I took care of it.❞ The hand that still holds her pistol waves generally towards the bodies; blood beginning to creep towards her shoes with the rocky terrain beneath their feet. Eventually, she tucks her gun away.

Fuck does her face hurt. She's certain her ribs shouldn't hurt like that when she breathes but that's life, isn't it? And life is a fucking bitch. Finally, finally does Tess realise that Daryl is standing there — when did he get here? ❝You uh..find anything? I got a couple cans out of these guys, some ammo and—❞ Tess groans as she bends to reach into her pack seated at her feet. Reaching in, she pulls out a small axe and her bloody lips tug into a smile, ❝— one of them had this one them.❞

🧟   ――――          DARYL  DIDN'T  KNOW  TESS  ALL  THAT  WELL.  she's  only  joined  the  group  a  short  time  ago,  but  something  about  him  had  him  instantly  trusting  her.  he  wasn't  sure  if  it  was  her  bravery,  her  confidence,  or  her  uncanny  ability  to  protect  herself.  it  was  nice  to  see  someone  else  that  was  able  to  take  care  of  themselves;  that  meant  they  could  become  a  valuable  asset  within  alexandria  which  was  crucial  with  the  threats  that  have  been  creeping  up  on  their  community.  all  that  being  said,  it  didn't  mean  he  didn't  feel  protective  of  her.  it  wasn't  necessarily  romantic,  but  more  so  wanting  to  make  sure  all  the  people  that  were  strong  enough  to  help  build  this  small  community  were  protected  and  stayed  safe  within  these  walls.  that's  why  he  felt  so  compelled  to  say  what  he  had  said.  he  didn't  want  to  see  harm  come  to  tess,  and  he  would  do  anything  without  hesitation  to  put  anyone  that  dared  threaten  tess  in  their  place.

DARYL  HAD  LET  OUT  A  SMALL  HUFF  AT  HER  FIRST  WORDS,  LOOKING  DOWN  AT  THE  BODIES  THAT  LAID  BEFORE  THEM.  he  never  liked  having  to  kill  other  human  beings,  but  daryl  knew,  that  in  this  world,  he  needed  to  do  what  he  had  to  do  to  ensure  his  and  his  comrades'  survival.  he  sighed  deeply,        ❛       got  some  of  this  shit       ❜     he  replied,  holding  up  the  rabbits  he  found  in  this  group's  bags.  it'd  be  plenty  for  dinner  for  at  least  a  couple  nights.  he  caught  sight  of  the  axe  she  had  been  able  to  obtain,  proud  of  her  findings.  he  nodded  in  approval,        ❛      nice  find,  chica.  hard  t'  come  by  that  shit.  keep  it       ❜     he  finished,  packing  his  bag  with  the  food  he  found,  excited  to  be  eating  some  classic  hares.  he  kneels  down  as  he  finished  stuffing  his  bag,  peering  over  his  shoulder  to  look  at  tess,        ❛      y'sure  you  a'right     ?      ❜

🧟   ――――          RICK  HAD  MOMENTS  OF  SEEING  SO  MUCH  OF  HER  MOTHER  IN  KAT.  rick  knew  that  andrea  would  be  so  proud  of  the  woman  she  had  become,  even  through  all  the  hardships  they've  gone  through  and  the  people  they  lost.  it  was  comforting  to  see  just  how  strong  she's  become.  she's  an  inspiration  to  him  and  the  group,  pivotal.  he  wanted  to  make  sure  she  was  safe  because  of  that.  she  was  more  important  than  she  ever  could  know.  he  chuckled  softly,         ❛     wish  i  did,  though.  i  miss  readin'.  carl  and  i   —       ❜      he  stopped  for  a  moment,  still  finding  it  difficult  to  speak  about  his  son,  but  it  was  hard  not  to  when  all  he  ever  thought  about  was  him.  he  sighed  softly,        ❛      used  to  read  books  with  carl,  mostly  comics       ❜     he  finished,  keeping  his  eyes  on  the  road  as  they  drove.

HE  NODDED  AT  KAT'S  WORDS,        ❛      amy's  got  great  taste.  wish  i  got  t'  know  yer  aunt  better.  she  was  a  nice  girl,  from  what  i  remember.  yer  mother  loved  her  very  much,       ❜     he  replied,  looking  over  at  her  briefly  to  offer  a  soft  smile.  there  were  a  lot  of  people  in  their  group  that  he  had  wished  he  could've  had  the  chance  to  get  to  know  better,  to  become  better  friends  with.  amy  was  definitely  one  of  them.  she  had  died  of  a  gruesome  death  she  did  not  deserve  and  back  then,  he  wished  he  was  able  to  do  more  to  protect  her  so  her  and  andrea  didn't  have  to  go  through  that  pain.  flashes  of  the  painful  memory  flooded  his  mind  briefly,  but  he  was  brought  back  when  kat  began  to  speak  again.         ❛     you  should,  we  oughta  make  a  book  club  or  somethin'.  somethin'  normal.       ❜

The younger Savior's head gave a quick nod at the instructions - well used to acting on his father's command. He and Dwight manhandled Daryl into the back of one of the vans that ringed the line of survivors, throwing him in and almost slamming the doors on his ass on the way in.

Logan preened under the proud look his father directed towards him, but the expression shifted slightly as Negan posed his question, the burly teen's pale eyes shifting to where the enemy leader and his group kneeled in the dirt.

Finally, after a long moment of consideration, Logan returned his gaze to his father.

"We're twenty-five people short."

🧟   ――――          NEGAN  COULDN'T  BE  PROUDER  OF  HIS  SON.  he  followed  instructions  well  and  was  happy  to  do  anything  he  was  told.  this  only  showed  negan  that  logan  was  going  to  be  a  fantastic  successor.  he  envisioned  his  son  taking  over  the  sanctuary  and  continuing  his  legacy  into  the  new  world.  the  one  thing  he  needed  to  teach  his  son  was  to  have  a  better  handle  on  his  emotions.  humans  are  a  resource,  and  logan  needed  to  learn  to  teach  a  lesson  that  could  be  masked  as  mercy.  that  is  how  he  will  gain  respect  of  anyone  he  sired  into  their  circle.  negan  scanned  the  other  survivors  that  knelt  in  the  dirt;  crying  and  sniffling,  reaching  for  the  man  that  he  had  just  bashed  the  head  of.  the  sight  of  it  caused  a  tingle  in  his  stomach;  one  that  was  good  and  bad.  he  didn't  like  killing  people,  he  never  wanted  to,  but  he  liked  killing  people  when  they  deserved  it.  it  was  an  eternal  conflict  negan  always  battled  with,  but  still,  he  was  successful  because  of  this  method.  he  wasn't  planning  on  changing  anytime  soon   —   only  planning  on  showing  his  son  the  ropes  of  it  all.

HE  CHUCKLED  AT  LOGAN'S  WORDS,  SMIRKING  AND  THEN  TURNING  TO  SHRUG  AT  RICK  WHO  WAS  AT  HIS  FEET.         ❛      that's  my  boy   —   he  doesn't  tolerate  the  death  of  our  men  a  little  more  than  i  do,  as  you  can  see,  he's  fuckin'  ruthless.  couldn't  be  prouder       ❜     he  told  rick,  kneeling  down  to  look  at  his  enemy  in  the  eye.         ❛      luckily  for  you,  i  ain't  my  boy.  we're  doin'  this  shit  my  way      ❜       he  finished,  standing  back  up  and  turned  to  his  son.  he  points  his  bat  at  his  son  and  beckons  him  over,  only  to  hand  him  his  beloved  lucille.  he  takes  his  son  hand  to  wrap  around  the  handle  and  he  squeezes,  looking  in  logan's  eyes  intently,        ❛      that  ain't  the  way,  son.  but,  i'll  let  you  do  the  honors.  go  ahead  and  pick  another  asshole's  head  to  bash  in.       ❜

🧟   ――――          IT  WAS  LIKE  A  TRAIN  WRECK,  RICK  COULDN'T  TAKE  HIS  EYES  AWAY  FROM  IT,  NO  MATTER  HOW  MUCH  HE  WANTED  TO.  seeing  his  horse,  his  beloved  animal,  being  torn  apart  from  gut  and  bone  broke  his  heart  into  irreparable  pieces.  it  was  the  last  thing  he  wanted  to  do,  was  to  sacrifice  him,  but  it  was  the  last  option  left  standing  between  death  and  survival.  he  finally  had  the  courage  to  look  away  but  his  gaze  peers  down,  pinching  the  bridge  of  his  nose  as  he  catches  his  breath.  he  finally  looks  at  connor,  sighing  deeply  before  he  spoke,        ❛      nothin'  we  can  do  'bout  it  now.  let's  go   [   .  .  .  .   ]      ❜     he  stated,  gesturing  for  the  other  male  to  follow  in  suit  as  he  made  his  way  to  the  open  window  of  the  barn.  he  looked  below  and  caught  sight  of  a  clearing.  all  the  walkers  seemed  to  be  inside  and  occupied  while  they  dined  on  the  flesh  of  their  horse.  he  looked  over  at  connor,  sitting  on  the  ledge  and  bracing  himself  before  leaping,        ❛     ain't  a  far  jump  down,  we'll  be  fine   —      ❜     he  assured  him  before  jumping  first.  he  landed  on  his  feet,  a  slight  shock  tingling  up  from  his  ankles  and  to  his  calves,  and  shook  himself  off.  he  looks  up  at  connor  and  waits  for  him  to  land  on  the  ground.  once  he  does,  he  scans  the  area,  observing  and  seeing  a  few  walkers  that  aimlessly  limped  around  them.  nothing  they  couldn't  handle.  he  takes  out  his  axe,  not  wanting  to  cause  any  disruption  in  their  atmosphere  to  attract  any  more  of  the  dead.  he  cants  his  head  and  begins  leading,         ❛      gotta  make  it  back  to  the  road.  must  be  some  car  we  can  fire  up.      ❜

🧟   ――――            DARYL  REFUSED  TO  LET  HIMSELF  DIE  AT  THE  HANDS  OF  THE  DEAD.  one  of  his  worst  fears  is  to  be  torn  apart  and  feed  the  sons  of  bitches  that  have  killed  many  people  he's  loved  and  ruined  the  world  he  once  knew.  he  refused  to  succumb  to  the  same  fate  his  brother  had  been  brought  upon.  that's  why  he  always  tried  his  damned  hardest  in  getting  out  of  tough  situations  such  as  this  and  never  gave  up.  as  much  as  he  always  liked  working  alone,  he  was  thankful  alicia  had  been  with  him.  she  had  a  level  head,  and  it  was  comforting  in  the  frightening  situation  that  was  engulfing  them  by  the  second.  the  herd  of  walkers  began  to  bang  on  the  floor  below  them;  it  was  only  a  matter  of  time  before  they  would  break  through  the  wooden  panels  that  kept  them  safe   [   .  .  .  .   ]   for  the  time-being.  he  looked  down  through  the  window  he  had  just  broke  and  noticed  the  window  ledge  below  them  that  alicia  had  thoughtfully  pointed  out.  he  was  glad  she  had  noticed  that  because  he  didn't  particularly  feel  like  breaking  an  ankle  or  worse  today.  he  nodded,  a  small  'hmph'  escaped  his  lips,  and  he  began  to  position  himself  in  a  way  that  would  help  her  down  slowly  and  easily.  he  looked  at  her  with  confidence  in  his  eyes,        ❛      smart  thinkin'.  let's  do  this      ❜     he  encouraged,  grabbing  her  hand  and  leading  her  out  of  the  window.  he  was  going  to  lower  her  slowly  until  she  would  announce  that  her  foot  was  safely  on  the  edge  of  that  god-sent  window.  he  hoped  the  jump  from  there  would  make  for  a  softer  landing.  he  looked  over  once  he  heard  the  loud  sound  of  wood  crunching,  and  he  caught  sight  of  a  walker's  hand  punching  its  way  through.        ❛      ain't  got  all  day,  go  on     !!      ❜
