                            “I finally feel STRONG again!”

For a brief period of time, he knew contentment. Hanging up his gloves, he had tried putting his warring ways behind him, pushing all strenuous training aside to become more of a family man. A lack of a rival had certainly helped in that capacity, easing the transition away from the life he known for the entirety of his existence up until that point. Too bad it was never fated to last.

Like all mortals, the allure of power had tempted the prince to make a shocking decision, one that involved him willingly surrendering his mind and body fully to the warlock's magic, so that he might gain dark strength anew. On all accounts, the gamble had worked, drawing to the surface his worst impulses, renewing his ailing appetite for destruction. All that it had cost him was his pride, the very attribute that mattered more to him than any low-born, Earth-raised Saiyan.

Yet, wreathed in a malevolent aura, he was not the only Saiyan that stood here as a changed man. There was something different about the Kakarot that currently faced him, not just in the alternatively coloured gi he wore, or the slice of a smirk that cleaved an otherwise cheerful mug asunder. Who was this imposter?

Gloved hands grip and scratch at his own face as his entire body convulses uncontrollably, hijacked by the workings of a devious wizard. It was a move that he had deliberately subjected himself to, leaving open a notable gap in his otherwise impenetrable defences to let wickedness and evil tidings trespass within the realm of his soul once again.      It would’ve been a perfectly executed plan had... complications not arisen. For one, it seems that notions depravity did not agree with his Earth-reformed self. And now as he struggled to resist Bobbidi’s influence from taking hold of his mind, he was beginning to express some regrets. 

“Nnghh--!! Get-- Get out of my head!!!”

     “You would throw everythin’ away like this?       Bulma, Trunks, and all we worked for t’ah protect them?”

Maybe, deep down, Goku had always known this was a possibility. That, if presented the option, Vegeta might return to his vile ways for the sake of being number one. But the naive, optimistic side of him had ignored it. Now it had reached a breaking point– to some extent, this was all his fault. And this would be his burden to bear.

     “You’re not hurtin’ anyone else, Vegeta. You’ll have y’er battle.”

Of course, going all out meant that he’d have to… no, he couldn’t risk that yet. Unless Vegeta pushed him that far, he should be able to end this with just the ascended state.

“Hhhuuuooraaah!!”

Goku’s body erupted in a beacon of golden light, sparks dancing around his figure. An explosion of energy flowed from Goku as he ascended straight to Super Saiyan 2.

     “There’s not a whole lot of time, so I hope y’ah don’t mind I SKIP the warm-up.”

Oh how the allure of power had enticed the prince to retread familiar ground. These Earthly attachments-- his wife, his son, the joy that both of them caused him to feel; it had weakened him, convinced he would be better parted from the little family he had built here... time would tell if this decision would be the correct one in the end.

“Excellent! You’re the only one I’m interested in beating... to a bloodied PULP!!!” His ki flared with his taunt, the fiery aura of his Super Saiyan 2 form tinged with traces of sinister energy, black and twisting. 

The prince grinned, his face like that of a predator poised to STRIKE!

Coiled and ready, feet are spread apart as he drops into a slight crouch, stalling for a moment before finally leaping at Goku, throwing a fist the other saiyan’s way with his opening strike.
