“よくマイケル・ジャクソンのライブの映像で１９９２年の「Live In ブカレスト」の様子が出てきますね。そこで登場から２分間動かないマイケルを見て、失神者が続出した…。というのが紹介されるとZ世代の人たちは「へ～何で失神するのかな？大げさじゃない？」みたいな反応のようですが…。これは、実は深い理由があるのです。ルーマニア・ブカレストは1989年まで独裁者チャウシェスク大統領が支配する共産国家でした。東欧の中でも特に恐怖政治色が強くて、まさに今の北朝鮮みたいな国だったのです。そこに住む人々は、1982年に世界で1億枚を売った「スリラー」のテープをひそかに密輸して、西側文明の音楽を隠れて聞いていました。そんな国で革命が起き、独裁者は人民によって処刑されました。そこからわずか3年後、西側文明の象徴であるマイケル・ジャクソンが首都ブカレストに舞い降りたのです。だから、あのマイケルの登場は単なるスターの登場じゃないんです。「ルーマニアが地獄から解放された」喜びでみんな失神しているんですね。しかも、あのライブの当時まだブカレストの電力事情は良くありませんでした。なので共産国家が経験したこともないぐらい電力を使いまくるマイケルのライブの為に首都を計画停電して、電力を確保した「リアル・ヤシマ作戦」が行われていたのです。そりゃ…失神しますよ。”
