Our life begins as an empty paper. No one can tell what words will be written on it until we start to write or fold the paper to leave marks on it. Someone chooses to write on the paper. Because they want to get to know someone. Someone chooses to write on it without hesitation. Someone chooses to write on it because they feel comfortable. If the paper has folding marks, it doesn’t mean it can no longer be used. They will always remind us that's how strong our feelings for each other once were.

We did meet. Nineteen years ago. I was 8, you were 9. Outside the temple. The Wong boys were taunting me about my parents’ divorce. You beat the crap out of them. You were wearing a Kristy McNichol t-shirt, tan cords and a pageboy. You spilled your mom’s groceries. We scooped them into a bag. And then I kissed you…on the nose. And you ran.
