So my friend sent me a text two days ago saying there was this guy selling all these Necron models, and gave me his number, after he bought all the models he wanted, of course. No biggie.
So I texted this guy, and he's offering 40 warriors, 30 Immortals, 2 Canoptek Spyders, a Monolith, Scarabs, a Destroyer Lord, and an Overlord- for just 120 bucks.
At this point, I jump on the deal- those warriors alone would cost me more than he was asking for the whole if I bought them new, and I figured, what the hell, I already have a Monolith and Destroyer Lord, but what the hell.
So we're discussing a place to meet, and finally decide on the local game shop. I managed to scrounge up the money in the two days, and the entire time, I was thinking "Holy shit, I'm meeting a random stranger, my friend probably hired him to kill me (he and I are fighting at this point in time) and worst of all the models are going to have a shitty paint job and it's going to be a waste."
So I brought my boyfriend with me, naturally. He's annoyed, because I made him drive half an hour to watch me buy models. I'm thinking of all the work I'm going to have to put in, when I walk in and see the seller.
A twenty year old, really attractive, really nice guy who greets me happily, and takes me out to his car, and opens up this massive box of models- and guess what? A pretty decent paint job on the individual models! All of the Immortals, and the two Spyders were from Third Edition too, which means they were really nice, metal models in super condition!
Granted, they were bright aluminum, but hey, I just got finished putting a black wash and they look great! All in all, the best one twenty I've ever spent in my short eighteen years of life!
The Monolith, on the other hand, doesn't fit the color of my current Monolith- and I was wondering, does anyone have any good techniques they use for stripping paint?
