       “ ah, miss lawrence. please, sit, if you will. “ like there’s a choice there, fingers pressed into the chair opposite hers, the rich scent of leather bowing to superior might.  a casual look, inviting her in just enough for a mixture of impressional curiosity and  GOD-FEARING  tact to settle.     the girl’s tall, taller than she expected  (some mousy little thing, perhaps? she’d thought) and the equality between them nearly makes her chuckle, a sound she suppresses. when’s the last time she had to look upwards. 

       she’s glanced at the papers, of course. records, the girl’s talented. a bright mind,          as of yet not dulled by stunts of delinquent obsessions as to the nearest crush.  ah, how love dulls futuristic ambition–     and most of the time they do not notice. takes her in, elegantly walks around the desk to lean against it, to look at her, this summer child. 

       “ your english professor has spoken highly of you. recommended you as an upcoming teaching assistant. “ it’s blunt, if nothing else, and she’s curious to see if the brain behind those cardinal locks has ambition. tilts her head, expression of curiosity. “ would you be interested? ”

▌  ➸    ●  ♘ won’t sit, not that sort of person. prefers to  take up  s p a c e , prefers to stand ground. quiet, well poised. posture perfect,    strong shoulders -- respectful,    while holding own pride between battle ready hands  & pause.  listening, listening - taking it in&   computing.              “ madame dean,       that’s ---    well super flattering.                                              W O W  . “  high grades, noble causes abundant.   a lot  of try & succeeding. athletic victories,  gold & silver --- track, filed, archery, fencing,   &  hand to hand combat. but humble,  very so.            “ didn’t know professor malt         was paying that much attention.                    of course i’m interested. “
