Control
from @fateheld: "If I wasn't friends with Kit, I wouldn't even be here," Amelia countered, her voice lacking any tone or edge. It was just a simple fact. Amelia avoided people and populated places if she could help it. Certainly if she knew an angel was around, she'd be running in the opposite direction. Kit was the reasons for a lot of things in Amelia's life. It all started with one mildly aggressive interaction in a coffee shop that eventually turned into him saving her life, and then her saving his. Ever since, it's been that back and forth, almost a competition to see which one of them was the real idiot that needed saving all the time. (The results so far: They were both idiots, and both too dumb to realize it.) Similarly, it was because of Kit that Amelia stayed in her seat. Kit was convinced they'd need the help, that he could also convince his asshole of a father provide said help, and Amelia trusted Kit that this wouldn't get the both of them killed. She could feel the hostility rolling off his father in waves, and yes, she was considering reaching for her weapon, just in case. Angels were hardly trustworthy, and she doubted that was any less true for a fallen one. For that reason, and that reason alone Amelia felt compelled to tell the truth. "Mia. I'd shake your hand but I'd rather not touch you. No offense." Her mother always told Amelia to be polite and introduce herself to people - the normal way, and not by picking fights. So far, though, the normal way's gotten her nothing, and picking fights has gotten her Kit, so maybe that advice doesn't work for everyone.
random starter for @fateforlorn because i can’t help myself.
Stoically, Caden took a long drag from the cigarette between his lips. Hard hazel eyes—so unlike his son’s, and yet somehow the same—scrutinized the woman standing before him.
She (whatever her name was) had arrived with his son only minutes ago. Immediately Kit had drifted off to the bar, intent on getting drinks, but Caden could care less. No, instead all he cared about was this woman.
A poor imitation of a human, but what else could he call her without being offensive? She was unnatural, and the part of Caden that was still an angel recoiled in muted horror. That part of him—a rather large part—was itching to eliminate her. To draw forth the remnants of power within him, and strike her down.
Instead, all without breaking expression, Caden pressed his cigarette against the table, effectively snuffing the flame out. “So,” he said dryly, “a homunculus and a fallen angel meet in a bar. Sounds like the start of a bad joke, no?” His tone was carefully cool.
Amelia sat stiffly on the other end of the table, her shoulders straight and held back. She didn't tear her eyes off the man before her, not even to glance at Kit, who she desperately wished hadn't left to get drinks right now. She didn't want to be left alone with this person. The kind her father would not hesitate to kill. An angel . She watched in mute trepidation as the burning end of the cigarette ground into the tabletop, leaving only ashes behind. That was easier to look at than the angel's face. All she could respond was: "Not really, no." Her voice was hoarse, partly from disuse and partly from fear. Her throat was dry and she really looking forward to those drinks. Amelia pressed her hands against her seat, to keep herself from fiddling with her sunglasses - dark in this dusky room, but necessary nonetheless - before glancing up at the angel. He didn't look much like Kit, to be honest. Probably a different host than when Kit was conceived. But, Amelia decided, maybe this angel just really liked hosts with punchable faces. He held himself casually but there was no doubt in her mind that he could smite everyone in this room should he feel moved to. Trying not to be intimidated into silence, Amelia leaned in and asked, "Is a smoking habit part of the package deal with being a fallen angel, or what?" The question might have come off impertinent, but Amelia was genuinely curious. Why would an angel smoke? Could they actually feel its effects? Did it harm their bodies? Amelia could count the number of angel run-ins she had on one hand, but she was pretty sure none of the other ones had a nicotine addiction.

Astoria hummed quietly, her dark eyes focused on her fingernails. There was a casual air to the woman; her posture was relaxed, a lack of worry in her features, as a quirk remained at the corner of her lips. Tori knew Mia believed they were trapped, but in reality, they were far from it. The guards had tried to confiscated her sling ring, but they’d failed quite epically. All it had taken was some slight of hand, and once again the magical tool returned to her.
Of course, Astoria had hidden that little fact from Mia. They could have been long gone already.
“Well,” she said slowly, her gaze flickering up to Amelia. Lazily, Tori tilted her chair backwards, her feet landing on the table in front of her, legs crossed at the ankles. “Never in a Fereldenprison, but prisons in general? Yes.” Peeking out of the sock on her right foot was the sling ring, and Tori wondered how long it would take for Amelia to notice it. It was time for her little game to end, unfortunately. The longer they were locked up, the harder it would be to escape.
It was silly to have stayed as long as they had, if Astoria was being honest with herself. A voice at the back of her mind had whispered it was a bad idea, but of course she hadn’t listened. Where was the fun in that?
“And how about you? Do you have any experience with Ferelden prisons?” Astoria was fairly certain she knew the answer, but at this point, she was just trying to kill time. All she wanted was a few more jabs at the other woman, then they could leave.
Amelia frowned, sitting back in her own seat so Astoria’s boots weren’t in her face. That’s when her eyes caught a glitter of something shiny, glimmering under the cold lightbulb of their cell. The sling ring. Finally, Tori’s too-casual, too-relaxed air made sense to her. Amelia had to smother a grin. Of course the witch was already two steps ahead. If there was one thing Amelia would never fully grasp, it was magic and all its peculiarities. She was fine with that, of course. She had her strengths and people like Astoria had theirs. The sling ring was a convenient measure to get in and out of places, and before now, Amelia was considering just breaking these handcuffs, kicking down the door, and fighting their way out. It wouldn’t necessarily be the hardest thing they’d ever done, but it would be messy, and Fury had specified in their subterfuge. Then again, getting caught kind of negated all that. Either way, Amelia was pleased that Astoria had managed to hang onto the ring. She wasn’t even mad that Tori had kept it from her until now. Sure, they could’ve escaped four hours and thirty-three minutes ago, but who’s counting? Keeping a cool head was more important than letting annoyance get the better of her. Besides, she couldn't deny that outsmarting the guards was a much more satisfying prospect. “No,” Amelia answered. Once she spotted the sling ring, she didn’t look at it again. In case anyone was watching them, she didn’t need to give away their little secret. She tilted her head, smiling slightly. “Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll get the chance to find out.” Another bang on the door, the metal echoing in their small cell. “I said be quiet!” Amelia cut Tori a mocking look, heedless of the warning. “What do you think? Should we stay for the night? I heard the Continental Breakfast here is to die for.”

R’s head snapped around as the conversation ensued, going between Howie and… adult big scary men. Or at least, two of them were adult big scary men. The third (the one in the middle, a step ahead and doing all the talking) was wearing fancier clothes sunglasses, (indoors) and cufflinks. Yes, he was the leader. So while she watched how the others’S REACTIONS to him, she largely ignored them.
They wouldn’t decide her fate.
As they spoke, her mind went into overdrive, trying to file and store everything as fast as possible. She didn’t smile back at Howard, simply nodded once, but she was more than relieved that they weren’t going to hurt him. She didn’t trust that he could take anything they could dish out. Granted, she could say the same of herself, but she was the one who’d left her cell.
To be honest, some of (most of) (ALL OF) tony’s talking points made a lot of sense. She was dangerous. Or she should probably be considered as such. She’d always been chained up when she left her room, where she couldn’t fit her wings open. And her young friend seemed very… idealistic. She understood that she wasn’t going to hurt them, but she understood she was different.
“I… HYDRA. That is what we are to call them?” she looked to all the people around her, looking until someone gave her the indication that she was on the right track. “The scientists. I call them scientists. I was created on accident, they were attempting to achieve a different result from my donor DNA. I was not expected. But they kept me there, ever since I was… very small. Created. Birthed? Born.” The word took her a second, but she did get there. “they will want me back. I do not wish to cause you…” she made eye contact with just howard, now, her back turned to the adults. She didn’t care about them. “harm. I do not want you in trouble because of me, you’ve done enough.” He’d been willing to let her go when she’d asked. She decided he was good. “i’m sorry they created me. it wasn’t something i had control over. i take it they aren’t well liked here?”
“I do not know what to do.” Turning back to the adults, she took a second. “if you’re not going to hurt us, put down the guns.”
The three adults stared at her in silence. The SHIELD agents didn’t move, didn’t lower their weapons. Finally, it was Tony who broke the silence. “Well, you heard the little lady!” He said, throwing up his arms at her. “Put those things away already, before someone gets hurt!” The SHIELD agents’ jolted slightly, before reluctantly complying. They didn’t look particularly happy or trusting of the girl, but they seemed to relax just a smidge once all weapons were put away. Seeing the command obeyed, Tony clapped his hands together and spoke to the girl directly, “Look, I’m gonna me straight with you, that’s a lot to unpack and I’m not entirely sure I’m the most qualified to deal with you. But! And this is a small but --- but, if you would like, I can make rearrangements with SHIELD. Get you a better situation here. A more comfortable one.” Howard threw a look at his father, his jaw dropping. “Really?” Tony held up a finger to say he wasn’t done. “On the condition that you mean what you say, and you don’t hurt anyone. HYDRA might think you’re a mistake, but the Avengers, at least ---” He cast a suspicious glance at the SHIELD agents “--- are more welcoming of the strange and unusual. Of course, if you want to leave, you still can, but we can’t promise you that HYDRA won’t find you again. What do you say?” It was unclear just what, exactly had changed Tony Stark’s mind on the ordeal. Perhaps it was his son’s advocacy, or perhaps it was the girl’s story; perhaps Tony related just a bit too much to being a prisoner, being a lab rat for a bunch of bad guys in a cave. He knew what that was like, and he hated to think he made anyone else feel like that under his care. Howie looked to the girl, his expression openly hopeful. “W-will you stay?”
Reblog if you’re open to improvisational rp and just “winging it” with threads
Whether it’s the first interactions between the muses so the chemistry is still up in the air and it’s still unknown as to whether or not they’ll click before potential plotting, or the muses have too much minds of their own and run wild the moment you set them loose in a thread, plotting is hard and occasionally your pre-planned threads jump the track and go in totally different directions than anticipated thanks to the muses’ creative differences. Reblog this to let your rp partners know that you don’t mind simply jumping straight into in-character interactions and threads.
