DREAMWEAVER .

an original interpretation of alice kingsleigh. written by béla.  (he/him, they/them, 28 years old) please read rules before any interactions / feel free to send asks and/or messages if clarification is needed for this blog.

this blog will be highly canon divergent from the original stories and poems by lewis carrol and the film by tim burton, but will be heavily inspired by and follow some of the events for both of these media.  

𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒔𝒐 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒖𝒑𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒖𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 to taste, it no longer appeared as vibrant as earlier times she had paid Wonderland her visits.    They lacked saturation, some stood quite crooked even, and all for the central figure connecting their roots … forgot what joy was.    Thranduil’s towering form crooked so he may see the much smaller Alice eye to eye, and the flowers bent with him.    In perfect synchronicity with the one clad in robes all across which STARLIGHT seemed to be sprinkled; still the birch carrying her won’t let her fall unless she imagined it.    the blooms in his crown, too, had begun to wilt and shed color.

The squirrel would flit into that endless and faintly aglow mane of SILVER, disappear, whilst surely the tall figure’s lush crown might block every and all light from Alice’s view when leaning closer.    Even if his mien remained utmost stern, thick brows contrasting his hair furrowed and his pale mouth a thin line, he merely whispered:

❝  The twins act as though they are the same, truly, I believe they share one mind.  Would you attempt to stand on your head and imagine those bizarre things all at once.—   ❞    He paused, those eyes that never seemed to blink flickering left and right ere returning to Alice’s features, his own softening with underlying concern.    ❝  Then more, I am afraid.  ❞

Meanwhile, one of his hands with fingers easily as long as a fully grown TREE’s branches reached down to pluck some grass.    Without the barest twitch across his countenance did he take a hearty bite to answer the smaller one’s query sans words.    Only when that bit had been chewed and his mouth emptied would Thranduil speak again, open palm inching toward Alice to offer her some of the sweet grass.    Nigh owlishly, his ADORNED head tipped to one side.    ❝  Will you tell me how you lost it ?  Your mind.  ❞

𝚕𝚘𝚘𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐  𝚞𝚙  𝚝𝚘𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚍  𝚝𝚑𝚎  𝚍𝚊𝚛𝚔  𝚌𝚊𝚗𝚘𝚙𝚢  of grim branches overhead, alice seemed lost.  the question he asked was not a light one, nor did it come with the happiest of stories, least not was it appealing when the white queen had told her to make the forest king laugh.  

❝  only because you asked so nicely.  but prepare yourself for something dreadful.  it’s not at all a happy story  ❞,  ms. kinglseigh took her opportunities as they came, and after steadying herself against the tall birch, leapt forward to stumble across the broad, pale palm, catching herself on hands and knees when the momentum proved too great.  breathless, her thin fingers reach up to part the curtain of golden curls that decorated her in similar fashion to his silvery locks.  

only once she’d become right again did she scoop up one of the blades between both of her hands and begin to gnaw at the edge.    ❝  hmmm....  it’s not as sweet as i imagined it would be.  ❞   and so pale nose crinkled in mild distaste before blade was dropped from the side of an oversized, opposable thumb.  dusting her hands off on the blue satin of her dress, she turned and craned her neck again to look up at him.  oh, why did everything in wonderland always have to be so tall?  just in case, she started to pat herself down again in search of the upelkuchen-- the tasty pastry that had made her grow when alice first found the three-legged table.  sadly, there was none to be had.   that wicked cat must have taken it!

—— HAND  PRESSED  TO  temple,  soft  groan  emitting  from  lips  as  eyes  open  to  the  dominion  ‘round  him.  brow  knits  in  confusion,  at  the  dizzying  hues  of  flora  &  strange  attributes  of  fauna,  glancing  towards  hand  to  make  sure  digits  were  not  still  wrapped  around  rum  bottle.  “pardon?”  could  not  forget  his  manners,  even  in  a  DREAM,  or  stupor  from  far  too  much  liquor.  peering  at  woman,  visage  one  of  utter  disbelief.  “this  is…a  dream…surely.”  (  his  fault  for  drinking  so  much  !  )

𝚋𝚞𝚝  𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝  𝚠𝚊𝚜  𝚊  𝚍𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚖,  𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢?   and how could one tell if, or even when, they were really awake?   how could anyone possible be absolutely certain that the waking world was real, and that the things they saw when dreaming were truly not the same?    

𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒂 𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒆’𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎 than humanoid proportions, and towering so high as well, stalled.    And the ‘ sir ‘ wearing a floral crown so impressive it might pass as a hat twisted his PORCELAIN mien into an irritated grimace.    ❝  I have no doubt it would be !  ❞    He wasted no time to counter as though insulted, already near the birch tree needed only lean forward a bit to shrink some distance.

Alice, The Alice no less, could easily take a seat in his FLOWERY adornment upon that flaxen head of his;  guard of all that was green.    ❝  To pour your time into such bizzare imagination, child  ❞,  he spake calm then, concern’s lilt swinging along,  ❝  You must have lost your mind.  ❞    She may ignore the giggling squirrel that whizzed onto one of his shoulders, then plucked from his massive CROWN an acorn to toss it in Alice’s direction ( to share it ).

𝚑𝚘𝚠 𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚎 𝚒𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚌𝚎 always seemed to be far too tall or, on the other spectrum, much too small!  in this case, she stood having to crane her head back just to look upon heavy-crowned features, whereupon she almost expected to see a scowl.  strange to say that he almost reminded her some of the late lord ascot...  for he was never full of many smiles, either.   ❝  oh, undoubtedly, sir, but i like to humor myself by saying that i lost that ages ago.  i do hope you will humor me there.  ❞   

❝  𝚜𝚑𝚑𝚑!   𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚖  𝚍𝚘𝚠𝚗,  𝚘𝚛  𝚢𝚘𝚞’𝚕𝚕  𝚠𝚊𝚔𝚎  𝚝𝚑𝚎  𝚕𝚒𝚕𝚒𝚎𝚜.  ❞   the young alice kingsleigh looked reproachfully at the man, curling her lithe fingers into his jacket to give him a little shake and bring him back to sense.
