“Welcome to the Colorful World of Fantasia!”

Growing up, Amarie read countless of fairy tales, stories about princess, witches, mermaids, and monsters, but never once did she believe that her beloved fairy tale stories would one day turn into a reality.

Yet all that changed, when the friends she once knew before, suddenly started disappearing one by one, completely forgotten by the world, and at one point, she disappeared too.

Waking up one night, she realized that she hadn’t awoken from her bedroom, but instead found herself in a whole new world. A world where it’s much more colorful and magical than the one she came from, Fantasia.

She thought that a world such as bright and magical as Fantasia would be absolutely phenomenal, but she quickly came to realize that it’s nothing like she’d imagine it to be. The heroes that she once looked up to, the fairy tales that she stayed up all night reading, turned out to be nothing but a lie. And with tension rising in the air, and a revolutionary War heading in gear, she wonders if it’s really safe to be here?

The Mysterious Fairy Godmother

Fleur Feé — The Fairy Godmother of Fantasia, the leader of the Colorful Bouquet, and the person responsible for sealing the Dark Fairy up for all those years. While she may look kind, sweet, and motherly, don’t be fooled by her generosity and kind exterior, for in actuality she’s very sharp and cunning, and more often than not, the wishes she grants causes more trouble than not. Yet even so, Amarie can’t help but have a sense of familiarity with her, almost as she knew her before….

The Quiet Little Mermaid

Soo Anderson — The once curious Little Mermaid is nothing but a shell of the person she once was, after being exiled from the Sea Kingdom, she made a contract with the Fairy Godmother, trading fins for legs. She’s very quiet, keeps to herself most of the time, and very cynical, lacking the kind of optimism you’ve read from her stories growing up. Though she mostly keeps to herself, she can be very ill-tempered and quick to anger, if you get her to that point. Not much is known about her past, she keeps people at arm’s length, and has no intention of letting anyone get too close to her.

The Rebellious Thief Rapunzel

Hana Russo — An infamous thief who steals jewelry, money, and goods from the village people. She is the epitome of greed and the main ones calling for a revolution, the village people hate her and in attempt to drive her out once and for all, they devised an attack on her. She will do anything to achieve the freedom that she so desperately desire, so in a hasty attempt to regain control during the mass witch hunt on her head, she made a contract with the Fairy Godmother.

The Spoiled Princess of Beauty

Camellia Clermont — From Riches to Rags, this once beloved princess has been cursed to sleep for a thousand years after a dreadful accident. No one has had the courage to wake the princess up until you came along and woken her up with “True Love’s Kiss”, yet when she woke up, she was nothing like Amarie expected. Instead of the kind and caring princess that would sing your praises after being awaken from a curse, she’s anything but. Needy, selfish, self-absorbed, and demanding, describes her to a T, yet Amarie can’t deny, she is quite beautiful, but there is something underneath that beauty that hides something more sinister.

The Two Faced Red Riding Hood

Nari Reyes — The newest recruit of the Colorful Team. Full of light and joy, what’s not to like about her? She brings a fresh set of joy and happiness wherever she goes, drastically different than any person you encountered so far. Yet there’s something about her that’s not right, for all her smiles and laughter, quickly disappear when the full moon comes around, and her true personality kicks in.

The Lonely Dark Fairy

Dayanara Perez — The person who has been sealed away for hundreds of years. After living in isolation for hundreds of years, once she finally broke free from purgatory, she established “The Monochrome”, a vigilante group that was made to take down people who abused their power in society. Though people’s memories of her have been completely wiped away from existence, there have been stories and folktales flying around about a “Dark Fairy”, once she was released from Purgatory, she took on that “Dark Fairy” persona. Her fairy tale is unknown.

The Wingless Fairy Traitor

Fei Wang — Loyal follower of “The Monochrome”, and the one responsible for awakening the Dark Fairy. This beautiful fairy was once a high respected general amongst the Fairy Kingdom, if beauty could kill, then hers was deadly. But after a run in incident with the Fairy Godmother, her reputation soured, and her once beautiful wings were cut off from her back. But even so, not even that could keep them down, for that incident only fueled their hatred and anger towards the Fairy Godmother. After she found about the Dark Fairy, they were thrilled with having another ally by her side. In modern fairy tale stories, she is known as, Tinkerbell.

The Innocent Snow White

Mira Morozov — The older step-sister of Camellia Clermont, while she is not a princess by blood, she has captured the people’s heart, and was nicknamed, “Snow White, the People’s Princess”, for she was so warm and kind that even the snow melted under her touch. However, as much as she tried to be kind and caring, there are some people in the world that just won’t stand for it, and so when the cursed Sleeping Beauty, poisoned her with an apple, well what you could do? But thanks to the kind and vigilante Dark Fairy, who saved her from a fast and quick death, she was able to live another day. But even after all these years, she was never truly able to forgive and forget, harboring so much anger and animosity to her step-sister, that the once beloved nickname “Snow White”, had quickly became synonymous with her cold heart.

The Strange Alice

May Weather — A former child prodigy that was once destined for greater and better things. A normal bright student at the very top of her class, was now a closed off NEET who relies on “delicacies” to get through the day. Is the youngest in “The Monochrome”, and the strangest by far. She stumbled upon Wonderland on accident and never cared enough to leave. She doesn’t remember her past, her present, who she is, what’s her name, how did she get here, how did this happen, and she doesn’t care enough to find the answer out either, for Wonderland and the Dark Fairy is all she will ever need.

The Angelic Beast and the Wicked Beauty

Soo Andersen, 25 — The once curious Little Mermaid is nothing but a shell of the person she once was. After being exiled from the Sea Kingdom, she made a contract with the Fairy Godmother, trading fins for legs. She’s very quiet, keeps to herself most of the time, and very cynical, lacking the kind of optimism you’ve read from her stories growing up. Though she mostly keeps to herself, she can be very ill-tempered and quick to anger. Not much is known about her past, she keeps people at arm’s length, and has no intention of letting anyone get too close to her.

She’s very standoffish and quite rude at times, she sees the world in bleak colors and believes that there’s no such thing as good in the world. She has severe trust issues and is easily paranoid, believing that everybody and everyone is out to get her. Her paranoia often manifests itself in anger, which is why she’s so hotheaded and ill tempered. Though she says it usually takes a lot to anger her, that statement is untrue and in actuality it doesn’t take a lot for her to blow up in someone’s face, even if it’s undeserved.

Appearance

Soo has long red hair that she usually wears in a braid and has golden eyes. As a former mermaid, she had a blue tale and fish scale with pointy ears. In her human form, she usually wears black and red.

Fairy Tale

Her fairy tale stemmed from the popular story, “The Little Mermaid.” In the very beginning, she was a sweet curious young mermaid who wanted to see the world above water, however how the actual story differs from the human told story, is that she didn’t leave the Sea Kingdom on her own volition but instead was exiled from her own father due to working with a traitor who was planning on taking over the Sea Kingdom.

Soo had an affair with the Sea Witch, Ophelia, who was banished from the Sea Kingdom and was forced to live in the dirty swamps of the Sea, being unable to leave, due to practicing black magic and trying to uprise against Soo’s father. Soo made a deal with Ophelia stating that if she could help re-instate Ophelia status as a citizen of the Sea Kingdom and get unbanned then she would help her become human and enter the human world. Soo agreed thinking nothing of it, already fully enamored by Ophelia’s charm and whit, and truly believed that her father and the rest of the kingdom were being way too harsh on her. She had no idea what Ophelia’s true motives were or that was being played for her curious nature and attraction to Ophelia got the better of her.

In the end, Ophelia was freed from the dirty swamps of the Sea and was able to finally enter the Sea Kingdom. Soo’s father eventually found out that Ophelia was freed and that Soo was working with Ophelia and conspiring against him so he banished both Soo and Ophelia, this time to the human world.

Relationship

Fleur

After her banishment from the Sea Kingdom, Soo was captured by a group of fishermen, but she was luckily able to escape the net of the fishermen. In her dire attempt to be freed, Soo wished to escape the fishermen, it was a quick flimsy prayer to God, that she didn’t even think was going to come to fruition. However, much to her surprise, a Fairy Godmother heard her wish and rescued her from the fishermen by giving her legs. The fishermen thought they captured a human and returned her to shore.

In exchange, for having her wish granted, the Fairy Godmother, Fleur, requested Soo to join her in the Colorful World. Soo, being newly banished and entering a world she never seen before, quickly agreed.

Soo’s relationship with Fleur is a complicated one, whilst Soo is eternally grateful that Fleur rescued her and took her in as one of her own, she’s still suspicious of Fleur, and doesn’t trust her as far as she can throw her.

Fleur, on the other hand, is either completely oblivious or simply does not care about Soo’s rising suspicion of her.

Ophelia

Even though, Ophelia lied, backstabbed, manipulated, was the reason why she was expelled from the Sea, and the reason why she has major trust issues, for some reason, Soo can’t find it within herself to hate her? Don’t get her wrong, she doesn’t trust Ophelia, and no longer feels any romantic or attachment towards her, but Ophelia was a big part of her life, and to hate Ophelia is to hate a part of her life that meant so much to her, a life that she longs to have back, she simply can’t do it.

Soo hasn’t seen or talked to Ophelia since their banishment, and honestly wouldn’t know what to do or say, if they were to meet again.

Nari

Amarie

Soo sympathizes with Amarie, as she knows what it’s like to be a fish out of water (pun intended), and be thrown into a whole new world that is completely different from yours. However, Soo is still wary of Amarie, usually giving her curt and dry responses, and often times leaving Amarie out in the cold, when she’s in need of help.

Soo’s behavior is surprising to Amarie, as “The Little Mermaid” was one of her favorite stories as a kid, so having her hero and favorite character turn out to be so differently than what she imagined her to be, was really disappointing.

However, even with all of this, Amarie understands that Soo is her own person, and she shouldn’t put much expectations on children stories to be true. While Soo’s words can hurt Amarie, Amarie tries to not let it get to her, and actively tries to be Soo’s friend.

Fleur Feé, 26 — The Fairy Godmother of Fantasia, the leader of the Colorful, and the person responsible for sealing the Dark Fairy up for all those years. While she may look kind, sweet, and motherly, don’t be fooled by her generosity and kind exterior, for in actuality she’s very sharp and cunning, and more often than not, the wishes she grants causes more trouble than not.

She is able to easily charm her way out of a sticky situation and has no qualms with using other people to reach her goals. With that being said, she’s more than happy to grant the wishes of any person’s that comes to her for help. She’s not picky at all when it comes to accepting new people into the team, in fact the Colorful, has almost 100 loyal members in it, though only five are known as the elite ranks.

Appearance

Fleur has long white hair and brown eyes, she’s usually seen wearing all white dresses and pearls. As the Fairy Godmother, she always carries a wand with her.

Fairy Tale

She first rose to fame when she advised Dorothy and her friends to follow the yellow brick road, and defeated the Wicked Witch of the West. She later became known as the Fairy Godmother or The Good Witch. From then on, the story had been adapted into a children story in the human world, known as, “The Wizard Of Oz”, where she played a minor role in, leaving out several important and major details.

Though she’s happy that her little adventure has touched the hearts of thousands of human children, ultimately she doesn’t bother checking or reading the material that humans have conjured up about it. Humans have a funny way of twisting the truth, and it’s been so long since the event happened, that she has long forgotten what really went down.

Relationship

While she is the leader of “The Colorful”, she’s not really close with the other girls. Keeping a respectful distance after making the initial contract/wishes with the girls. Even though she’s not particularly close with any of them, she still keeps close tabs on all of them to make sure that they’re all doing what they’re supposed to do.

Her relationship with Dayanara, however, is a bit more complex than the other girls, since they’re both leaders of the opposing sides. Plus, Fleur is the reason as to why Daysia was even sealed away and made “The Monochrome”, in the first place. However, all that being said, Fleur still holds Daysia close and dear to her heart, and wishes her nothing but the best….though her actions saids otherwise.

Overview

Soo and Nari’s relationship can only be described in one word and one word only: messy.

Soo is so paranoid about everything and everyone, she barely trust the people in her own group let alone someone else in a whole different group. Soo is basically like a skittish scared cat who sinks her claws onto everybody who gets too closed, she’s very paranoid and would often jump to the worst conclusion about somebody even if they have done nothing to show that they’re unloyal or deserving of a wild assumption that she made up about them.

Nari, on the other hand, is known to be very pushy and provocative, she loves seeing people start to lose control because of her words or actions. She just keeps pushing and pushing until someone finally snaps and for the better part of her and Soo’s relationship that was an easy feat to do.

Nari found out very quickly that Soo was going to form her own judgements, her own opinion and assumptions about her character, regardless of whether they were based on reality or not. Once Soo decides that you’re a threat to her then it’s very hard to change her mind, so Nari sees no point in trying to convince Soo that she means no ill will or that she has bad intentions because ultimately Soo doesn’t want to hear it and therefore Nari decides “if she’s going to think the worst of me anyways why won’t I play into it?”

Fairy Tales

Yeah, their relationship is by far from picture perfect but although they have their own flaws individually and may bring out the worst of each other, Soo and Nari do make a pretty good team and are pretty compatible when they’re aren’t arguing or throwing digs at one another.

Nari’s fairy tale derives from Little Red Riding Hood whilst Soo fairy tale derives from The Little Mermaid. Little Red Riding Hood was tricked by the Big Bad Wolf into thinking he was her poor sick grandma and was later eaten by the wolf. The Little Mermaid sold her voice for legs to the Sea Witch, thinking the Sea Witch had her best interest at heart and later was betrayed by her.

Both of their fairy tales consist of two gullible and naive young woman who thought the best of people and inevitably got the short end of the stick because of it. And while Soo’s and Nari’s version of the story didn’t end in a gruesome death, it didn’t end in a happily ever after either.

For one, unlike in the popular told story of the Little Mermaid, Soo was actually banished and exiled from the Sea Kingdom due to her vast interest of humans and the human world (and also her alleged affair with the Sea Witch but that’s a whole other post in itself-), and was thrown into the human world having no idea what to expect or what she’s getting into and it ultimately caused her a buttload of trust issues and why she’s so jaded and paranoid at the world.

Similarly, Nari has her own experience of having someone robbing her of her innocence and her naivety being taken advantaged of. Although, the origin of her fairy tale has derailed so much from what actually happened (and it kinda amazes Nari how humans can go so off from the original source material but that’s neither here or there!), she understands the act of having her youth taking from her even after she escaped the clutches from the Big Bad Wolf, it’s still something that she deals with and struggles to this day.

In a sense, they both understand what it feels like to be so young and trusting of the world and being so filled with curiosity, just as much as they understand how quickly things can take a turn for the worst because of it. They find reconciliation and understanding in each other since they both went through similar experiences, however, it’s because of those similarities that they don’t fully trust one another.

Dynamics

They’re dynamic is very push and pull, sometimes they’re at each others throats and other times they’re at each others door begging for forgiveness. It’s exhausting yet kind of entertaining for everybody to bare witness because they never know what’s going to happen next.

Nari is entertained by Soo, she thinks her angry outburst that mostly are directed at Nari’s expense are quite funny and often pushes her button to get her to react. Soo, in turn, always takes bait though whether it’s because she’s actually annoyed at Nari’s antics or is actually amused and just playing along for the bit is still ip in the air.

What’s interesting to Nari though is how Soo is completely different person when she’s not yelling at her. For one, Soo is a bit standoffish to everybody else and puts on a cold exterior and doesn’t let anyone ever get too close to her. The difference between how Soo treats Nari vs how Soo treats the rest of the Colorful members is very apparent and noticeable to everybody (well expect Soo), and it doesn’t go unnoticed by Nari that she’s the only one Soo lets her guard down around. It both makes her feel prideful to see a side of Soo that most people would never see yet nervous all the same (though Nari would admit that part).

And on the flip side, Soo can’t help but be attracted and intrigued by Nari, almost the same way she was attracted to Ophelia. As much as she hates to admit, there’s still a sense of curiosity lingering inside of her. She can’t help but be pulled in by challenging things and Nari is the most challenging person she has ever met.
