like that’s my favorite thing about ships involving two characters who are huge grumps but are still good people, when they calm down and are genuinely comfortable around someone who gets them, they get very sweet and have their own little love language. like obviously they’d still call each other names, but it’s in a sweet way, an endearing one. tom and eduardo don’t strike me as the types to refer to their partner(s) as “dear” or “darling” or “honey” or “sweetie” or anything like that, they probably call each other things like “shithead” or “babe” or “arsehole” or “jackass” or “twink” or some stupid shit like that because they’re not the types to overtly say “i love you” a lot, they moreso do it in unspoken ways, in the way they treat each other, in the ways they hold each other, in the ways they speak to each other. like they have their own little language specific to them because of the way they’ve grown together and it’s very sweet once you know exactly what’s going on. it gives me the vibe of an older couple with a charming “hatred” for the other, /seeming/ angry and distasteful at times, but in actuality they just have a very specific love language that involves teasing and playful and loving insults instead of referring to their partners as sweet things, and that’s just how they communicate because it’s how they’ve grown together as people, and it’s charming and to see relationships like that. that’s a big reason why i think about tomuardo, i’m by no means a huge shipper, but i really enjoy thinking about the dynamic between them and how their relationship might go because of their personalities and the way they talk to each other. i could probably go on for a long time with the ideas that i’ve had.
