I would enjoy Arthur fucking up and 'cheating' on his friendship/partnership with John re: Parker in the new series a lot more if 1. there was any guarantee that Arthur is going to be held accountable for how fucked up this actually is 2. I had any faith that the show cared about John's needs, wants, or feelings beyond the bare bones to keep things rolling and 3. I believe *at all* that this narrative was ever going to give John the moral highground in any real manner without in some way undermining it five seconds later because John's clearly so much worse and Arthur deserves a medal for putting up with him. /s
