What is Fangirls for Future?
For a while now I have believed in the importance of community when making a difference to the environment. Just facts can be overwhelming and confusing and don't always encourage people to help. A community of people working together, starting closer to home can make more people get involved.
Fandom is a community space and I believe it could be used for so much good. Fan activism projects have raised money for charities, put pressure on companies with unethical practices and can raise public awareness of issues. Fans are creative and passionate and if we could channel some of the energy we love our fandoms with into helping the planet, I think we could make a lot of difference.
So this is a blog to try to promote that idea and be a space for other fans who want to help the environment. I am hesitant to start this blog because I don't fully know what it's going to be yet or how regularly I'm going to be posting but you have to start somewhere, so I'm starting here.
I hope this can be something positive.

I want this blog to be a welcoming space for people of any gender but I chose the name Fangirls for Future because I think it is my experience of being a fangirl specifically that has influenced me to start this and I want to reference that.
