Fandom News Daily

We need reporters who can:

- keep up to date with fandom news

- post/write up 3 to 4 blog posts a week.

- can proof read their own work

- regularly check their e-mails

This will help our site content immensely. Right now we have reporter vacancies for the following fandoms: 

- Supernatural 

- Doctor Who 

- Sherlock 

- Marvel 

- TVD (The Vampire Diaries - this includes any spin off shows) 

The aim of the project is to get daily content written up and posted on the site for each fandom. There will be more than one reporter for each fandom to save one person writing one blog post a day (as real life can get in the way). You're free to post more than one blog post a day if you so wish, as long as you get the go ahead from any admins.

TV Line recently posted this article - x - interviewing Shelby Auslello. The most interesting part for the fandom was this particular line: 

So I met one of my idols: Felicia Day! And she was definitely my favourite person I've ever met at a con. Yes, even more than Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins. This is why my experience with meeting Felicia has the edge - she spent so much time talking to me at the autograph session! To the point her assistant sitting beside her was looking like "come on..." 

I went to this convention completely alone, insisting my mum accompany me to the hotel and back. I didn't know any other attendees, and I was there only for Felicia. 

The photoshoot went kinda quick. I was one of the front of the queue on the Sunday, which is the only day I attended, but I was so nervous that I said nothing to Felicia besides "hey" and "thank you" in a weird squeaky awkward voice and just was a bit weird. She too only said "hey" and "bye" but what did I say/do to start a small conversation? Nothing at all, so what could I expect? 

I sat around the hotel for a good few hours, going outside occasionally. Then I saw people collecting their photo ops so went to get mine and was really happy with it. I don't look too odd and Felicia looks, well...stunning.

At some point during the day I tweeted Felicia saying "sorry in advance if I act weird in the autographs, and sorry for being awkward in the photo op". 

I went to Felicia and Sandeep's panel, which was awesome. It was a really good panel, they're both hilarious!

So now it was time for the autograph. She was wearing a short red wig. I didn't get an explanation but it was just adorable.

A girl a few people in front of me got to Felicia and Felicia said "hey erm...did you tweet me about being awkward in the photos?" The girl said no, and Felicia said about how she'd seen someone tweet about being awkward in the photo, and that the picture looked like someone with a bob, similar to that girl. I then realised oh crap. That tweet was me. My Twitter picture is me with Jared, and probably from a phone or something where the twitter icon is small, Jared could probably look like someone with a bob (which I find hilarious). 

I got to the front of the queue, she looked up at me and said "hey how are you?" and was all smiley and adorable and I think I said I was okay or nervous and she asked me where I was from. I said near Oxford and she said "oh cool is that where...." so I said "where the university is?" and she said yeah.

She asked if I went there, I said no but I worked near there. She thought I said I worked there so I clarified I worked in a drug store near some of the university. She asked if its good there and if I'd want to live somewhere else. 

I then [shakily] gave her my letter and she said thank you and I said "I wrote it because, well, you're an idol to me" and she put her hand on mine and said "aww thank you that's so sweet". And I died a little inside because she's so perfect.

I then said "yeah...really sorry I was so awkward in the photo op" and she looked up at me and said "it was YOU that tweeted!" and I said "yeah...probably was" and she said "you know, I always think that I'm awkward and stuff but you weren't you were fine in the photo" then she asked to see the photo which incidentally was in the back of my SPN book she was signing. She was like "see look we're fine!!" then said "I like our hair" so I confessed I went to the hairdresser with a picture of her which she liked. I said I love her hair short and also loved the wig she was wearing and she was like "I know right?" 

Then she was saying how she doesn't know if SPN want her back but if they do she doesn't know if she should wear a wig or have it short - I said she could have had it cut in Oz?

By this point her assistant was looking at the person behind me like "In your own time, Felicia" and she noticed and said "okay anyway, it was great to meet you, have you had a good time?" and I said "yes...because of you" and she was like "awww thanks."

I sent Felicia this photo along with a tweet thanking her for being so lovely. I then got home to find she'd replied - only with a <3 but it made my day even better.

She is one of the nicest people I've ever met and I'm so grateful to have met her. I'm so grateful that in the space of about six weeks I've met three out of the four people I consider idols - the only one I haven't met being Genevieve Padalecki. And I'm also so grateful that my experiences with Jared, Misha and Felicia have all been amazing. 

Yesterday we posted how we thought filming prep could be in the works (X), and just fourteen hours ago Adam Glass posted this tweet to entice the SPNFamily. 

Not only are the actors a tease, but this proves that the writers and crew can be too.

This was on the 24th of June though, maybe the surprise was that he isn't going to tell us anything? Who knows? 

We were first alerted of this when Russ Hamilton, who works with CW's Supernatural, recently tweeted: 

I know I'm going to join you with your 'yay'ing!! 

According to sources, Misha Collins, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Mark Sheppard still have some vacation time left before they return to the set. Until then the SPN crew seem to be making preparations for this big filming day. Even Russ Hamilton seems over the moon about it. 

The WOW in capitals means that we're mega excited over here at FND for the premier and it hasn't even started filming yet!!

1. Some joking around.  Like most of you I've seen the jokes going around, about how fun it would be if Demon!Dean would get pranked on by Sam with hidden traps, and salted food. A necessary evil and something that should lighten the mood in the season. 

2. Human Impala

I swear if we don't get this episode I will write a letter personally to each and every member that's left of the cast, as well as the writers, and demand that they do one. 

3. Awesome dark!dean moments

We've seen dark!dean before in the earlier seasons, but I think it would be really great if we get to see that now more than ever. Dean fully let off his leash, a killing spree of monsters with no-one to tell him 'enough is enough'. 

4. Genderbender Episode

This one leads into my next point, but basically an episode where the boys get turned into chicks would be awesome with a capital A. Of course they'd have to deal with the whole dean being a demon....or maybe Dean should possess a female?? Who knows! 

But we all know who should get the part: 

  Lets face it, the match is PERFECT. 

5. Gabriel's return 

Richard Speight Jr, COME BACK! 

WE ALL MISS YOU! YOU CAN TURN THE BOYS INTO CHICKS.

Look at your sweet baby face. (sorry for the feels here) 

  6. A decent spin-off, maybe the origins of Mary Campbell and John Winchester? 

Think of how cute it would be to see Mary and John fall in love, watch as they trial against both their parents' wishes. Plus we get to see John pre-hunter, and Mary be the born hunter. 

WE NEED MORE MARY AND JOHN. 

7. Let's not forget a bit of Charlie too! 

We want Charlie to come back from Oz!!! I miss her sass, I miss her LARPing, I miss her. She should come back, be super kick ass and NOT killed off (we know how SPN writers like to kill off the females) 

8. Cas' grace being an important plot line 

The one major important thing I want to happen is for them NOT to brush aside Cas' stolen grace as something that's 'fine' or 'forgotten'. I want to know how it really affects him, maybe there's a punishment for it? Who knows. Just beg the spn writers not to easily solve it (same goes for demon!dean too!) 

9. Garth! 

WITH Mr Fizzles.

  10. Resurection of ANY/ALL characters

Jo, Ellen, Ash, Bobby, John, Mary, EVERYONE AND ANYONE. PLEASE. 

Oh and how can we forget this guy - 

What's his name? If he gets ignored for another season, we should all protest. Just saying. Think how COOL it would be if he comes back NOW of ALL times! If only I could remember who he actually is ;)
