I learned in a Latin Studies class (with a chill white dude professor) that when the Europeans first saw Aztec cities they were stunned by the grid. The Aztecs had city planning and that there was no rational lay out to European cities at the time. No organization.
When the Spanish first arrived in Tenochtitlan (now downtown mexico city) they thought they were dreaming. They had arrived from incredibly unsanitary medieval Europe to a city five times the size of that centuryâs london with a working sewage system, artificial âfloating gardensâ (chinampas), a grid system, and aqueducts providing fresh water. Which wasnât even for drinking! Water from the aqueducts was used for washing and bathing- they preferred using nearby mountain springs for drinking. Hygiene was a huge part if their culture, most people bathed twice a day while the king bathed at least four times a day. Located on an island in the middle of a lake, they used advanced causeways to allow access to the mainland that could be cut off to let canoes through or to defend the city. The Spanish saw their buildings and towers and thought they were rising out of the water. The city was one of the most advanced societies at the time.
Anyone who thinks that Native Americans were the savages instead of the filthy, disease ridden colonizers who appeared on their land is a damn fool.
Theyâve also recently discovered a lost Native American city in Kansas called Etzanoa It rivals the size of Cahokia, which was very large as well.
WHAT IS YOUR SOUL ELEMENT?
What is your soul element? Are you the master of fire, the controller of water, the bender of air, or the assembler of earth?Â

HOW FAR
Fun fact
Native Americans werenât allowed US citizenship until 1924.
Let that sink in. We lived here firstâŚfor thousands of years. And less than a hundred years ago we were finally given citizenship.
We also fought in WWI despite not being US citizens.
In Arizona, natives werenât granted the right to vote until 1948. Think how that type of neglect ties into resource colonization as infrastructure was developed within years prior.Â
In addition: the indigenous peoples of Canada were not recognized as Human Beings until the year 1960. Now let that shit sink in.
In the US it wasnât until 1968 that the Indian Civil Rights Act was passed and allowed for the right to freedom of speech / assembly / press, a jury trial, the right to an attorney etc. Itâs so fucking frustrating.
and it wasnât until 1978 that we were legally allowed to practice our own religions. in a nation founded on religious freedoms, it was illegal to practice our own religions. in our own country. how fucked up is that?
Aaaand Native Americans werenât entitled to their own languages (had no legal rights to teach them in their schools, use them in business) until the Native American Language Act of 1990.
I teach this to my students, because NONE of it is in a single textbook. This is and act of indoctrination
Boosting because I didnât know any of this.
These facts should be known by all.
Didnât know half of this.

âDonât underestimate me or my teamâÂ
OK but gay country music would go so hard though. Ladies singing about the girl in cut offs sitting next to them in their truck, dudes singing about showing off for the farmers son, bi people singing about how the county fair is hot but it ainât cause of the heat. 90% of country music could be fixed if we removed the heteronormativity
The other 10% of country music is fine just the way it is cause thatâs the 10% thatâs women singing about killing their abusive husbands.Â
âThe viewpoint Damore is espousing is known as biological essentialism. Itâs used by people who have been told all their lives that theyâre special and brilliant, and in moments of insecurity or arrogance, seek to prove this with junk science. Junk science like âwomen are biologically unsuited to technical workâ, which â despite all his thesaurus-bothering, pseudoscientific linguistic cladding (see, I can do it too) â is the reductive crux of his argument.
Damore clearly thinks heâs schooling the world on biology, but itâs actually history he should have been paying attention to. Because he either doesnât know or has chosen to forget that women were the originators of programming, and dominated the software field until men rode in and claimed all the glory.â

And we still see this shit play out. And still -STILL- we have white racists looking at the test scores of discouraged and deprived black kids and saying theyâre genetically inferior. So donât listen to anybody saying electing President Obama ended racism.
