To Begin Something is To End Something

What happened after MC returns home after all the time she spent within the Devildom? What if she finds her old life unfulfilling and wished to return? This story is based on my MC, Rayne Kruspe. She returns home and realizes her time within the Devildom was more fulfilling and worthwhile than the life she has in the Human World. I may have felt a bit angsty when writing this, but what better way to express one's emotions?
(Contains a few headcanon ideas within the story that has not been explained in the story. I hope you enjoy!
Lyrics within the story belongs to Marilyn Manson 'Coma White'.)
'There's something cold and blank behind her smile. She's standing on an overpass in a miracle mile.'
Tears streamed down her rosy cheeks as she stared below into the coursing river. The current would surely take her under and given the distance between the bridge she stood on in addition, it would certainly accomplish the only goal in her mind.
It had been six months since Rayne returned to the human world from the time she spent in the Devildom. She was having the time of her life and, truth be told, she never felt alone. Even if things had gone rather bad for her, everything ended up working itself out. Ever since she had returned, she found herself missing the antics of the brothers and their endearing quirks. She missed it all from Lucifer's strict leadership to Mammon's get rich schemes. The way Levi would get excited over a new video game or anime as well as Satan's quiet contemplation over a good book was something she adored. Whenever Asmo would hit on her or anything else on two legs and Beel's insatiable hunger and adorable ways in addition to Belphie's sleepy nature, she could not help but smile.
She even admired the dynamics between the Demon Prince and his loyal steward, Barbatos. The angels were endearing and the other human, Solomon kept her grounded when things got tough. They all were special to her in one way or another and they had brought so much joy to her humdrum life. Truth be told, she never wanted to leave.
Yet, here she was. She did not understand how lonely her life was until she met every single one of these people. She lived a rather mediocre life before she appeared within the Devildom and it took her a while to open up to them, but when she did, she felt accepted, for the most part.
Now, she returned to her mundane, boring, and lonely life and she realized something crucial. She did not want it anymore. Things had gone to hell and back, figuratively, and she could not stand any of it. She missed everyone who she would dare call friends. There had been plenty of moments where she would hold her D.D.D. just to reach out, she wanted to feel that connection again. Then she reminded herself, she was just a human exchange student. Surely, they had all forgotten about her by now and moved onto better things. One year in the Devildom was equivalent to one month in the human world. With this in mind, six years had passed in their world and she was sure they had forgotten her by now.
Even though Lord Diavolo had expressed that he would miss her and she always had a place within the Devildom if she wished to return, she did not have the means or ability to open a portal on a whim. No, they moved on and she was stuck in her own misery.
Fortunately, for her, this bridge had little to no traffic, so she would not suffer any interruptions. She would be able to complete her goal and end her own life. Suicide was a sin, right? Sinners went to Hell, and this was her ultimate goal. She was unsure if she would become a mindless wisp of a soul in their world, but at least she would be there.
Her purple eyes stared at the clashing water down below and it had a peaceful sound. Strands of her ebony locks blew about in her face as the wind washed over her body. She was here, all she needed to do now was jump. That was it. But, why was it so difficult to let go of the cool metal fence along the bridge.
Her slender body leaned forward and stood away from the bridge while her dainty hands kept ahold of the metal. Her throat was dry and her cheeks were wet from the tears. It was a now or never sort of situation and she needed to take the plunge. There was somewhere she wanted to be, somewhere she desired to be. Her lithe fingers released the bridge and she closed her eyes. The wind cut through her short frame and it was enough for her breath to stifle and her lungs to tighten within her chest.
'Cause you were from a perfect world, a world that threw me away today, today, today, to run away.'
The water grew closer to her, although she was unable to see since she tightly closed her eyes to prepare for the impending impact she would make when she broke the surface of the water. There were no doubts the current would take her and the last thing she remembered running through her mind was how it would feel like to drown. Would she feel anything at all?
Her mind slipped into darkness as she passed out before a pair of powerful arms had swooped out to catch her mid-fall. With her tiny frame, it was easy enough for her savior to seize her from midair. The sound of mighty bat wings was heard as they had ascended from over the roaring waves and higher into the air.
She felt nothing for a moment longer, but before her eyes even opened, she heard a conversation, although it was only heard in a muffle.
