ＮＡＧＡＳＯＮＥ

“I’ve missed you, too!!!”  He wrapped his arms around the spirit tightly, giggling with as much joy as Nagasone’s laugh.  Being around him, being in his arms, felt like warmth and comfort, much like when he was with Kondou, unsurprisingly.  “Naga-papa you can’t have been that worried! I can take care of myself!!”

“ heh, i know that but can you really blame me for worrying about my child? grown-up or not, this old spirit worries as much as a hen worries over her chick. ” really, he could remember when souji was so much smaller... caring for him by kondou’s side all of the time.

he manages to cause nagasone to stumble a bit! nagasone laughs, reaching back just a bit to touch souji’s head. a grin drawn across his lips.

a hardy laugh erupts from the man. full of joy and his being full of nostalgia upon seeing the face of his beloved child. of course, this one was his child, regardless of whether or not he was a spirit, nagasone helped and watched souji grow. while his master could no longer share this experience- nagasone would cherish it for them both.

in a swift motion, souji was swept off his feet; picked up and embraced by the tsukumogami. a deep breath and a smile, warm as ever.

“Sorry, but I can’t abide Hijikata-san, even for Senpai’s sake.”

“I understand such a thing must be distasteful and not to your favor but if you cannot abide him then do not look his way. You have separated your path from his, have you not? Do not be spurred by Hijikata Toshizō. He is a man that I must respect due to my master’s own respect and trust but I wish for neither of you to become so riled up in each other’s presence.” He sighs, a hand going to his neck and rubbing it as he tried to gather his thoughts.

“Senpai will surely show up before you know it,” Sannan comforts.

“Haha! Did you overhear me, little one? Worry not for this old sword. He simply likes to ramble.” Nagasone says, wrapping his arms around Souji. While he truly does appreciate the other, he can’t help but feel lonely but Souji was there so that lonely never lasted long. In his master’s stead, he would continue to watch over the one they considered a son.
