The COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS is something that all humans are connected to. It contains the thoughts, emotions, and memories of every single person. It is not a tangible place or thing. It is an ancient, primal force. An unfathomably vast, raging metaphysical sea.
PSYCHICS are humans with a connection to the Collective Unconscious deeper than most. They are able to tap into its vast, limitless potential to use powerful abilities. A Psychic’s ability is, in most cases, unique to them. There are exceptions, of course. Many Psychics work for the College of the Metaphysical, a worldwide organization dedicated to combating Nightmares.
NIGHTMARES are horrors born from the Collective Unconscious. They are born from the fears, worries, stresses, and overall negative feelings of humans. Oftentimes, they reflect the current culture- For example, if enough people spread a rumor about a ghost, the ghost will be brought into reality as a Nightmare.
Nightmares are ranked from Catergory 1 to Catergory 5. The more pressing and widespread a worry, fear, or stressor is, the stronger a Nightmare will be. For example, a nightmare born from a few people having a stressful day at school will be small and weak, while the nightmare born from the fear of fire would be Catergory 5.
