this build was honestly super simple but it quickly became one of my favorites i've ever done. the HG GN Flag by itself is already just a really clean, fun build, and apart from the antlers (which were repurposed from my RG Banshee) and the sword (which i think originally came from my Barbataurus?) this basically just trims it down, shuffles things around a little, and calls it a day. the pointy feet, in particular, are just the Flag's knee spikes turned upside-down and attached to the ankle joint. surprisingly, i didn't even have to glue that in, it just fits in there!
in terms of painting, this used the same trick of white panel lines that i did on my regular GN Flag, to the same lovely effect. i also spray-painted both the antlers and the sword in tamiya rubber black, which was the only shade of black i happened to have on hand but ended up working very nicely. all white details and panel lines were handpainted with the DSPIAE white brush-tip marker, and there are a few black details (mostly the tips of the antlers) that i made with their black brush-tip marker.
i honestly couldn't tell you where that little blue stand came from, that was just sitting in my parts box. maybe my bootleg Lfrith Anavata...? i do know the cloud effect, though: that's from one of the Rayquaza kits i've built. i liked that when you put 'em together they kind of had the colors of the Knight's Dark Fountain being formed. very serendipitous scavenging of the parts box.
that little stand did make posing a bit of a challenge, though, since it's definitely meant for supporting Little Effects Parts and not The Whole Entire Kit. i ended up cramming a bunch of masking tape and random plastic detritus in the hollow underside of the cloud part in order to weigh down the base so it wouldn't tip over.
...y'know, if i'd been smart, i would've waited until december to work on this and post it. ah, well. here's to impatience and Cool Model Kits!!!
