I strayed last week from the clutches of my captors With abandon, imagining the happily ever afters. Some fool am I, thinking things would be fine Well. they’re not & another spell of captivity is mine. Sadness & gloom descend over me With abandon. I imagine some day I’ll free .

5 more sleeps & I can go home Downtrodden, sedated, bored to the bone Psychiatric treatment up to the gills Getting ready for discharge, a reduction in pills. 5 more sleeps, it’s been 5 weeks My body feels bloated & full of creaks Psychiatric treatment can go to hell I don’t need any more of it, I am mentally well.

Nearing the end of a hospital stay Yes, my bipolarity came out to play In like a lion & out like a lamb My mood is now serene & calm. Weeks of meds & r & r That’s what the psychiatric ward is for My discharge date is coming soon Feeling like a burst balloon.

Left the hospital against medical advice And my long weekend turned out very nice Cinema, barbecue & time to chill Being free is such a thrill. Back in my own bed, such a treat Loving my tunes, absorbing the beat May has arrived but there’s a chill in the air Happy in my heart, life feels fair.

Ah the joys of being free Goodbye hospital, no longer for me Loved up, tucked up, cozy in my space Saturday night at my own pace. Physically FUBAR but mentally sound Ran myself today right into the ground A spell of sleep & I’ll be brand new May Day weekend, lots to do.
