Faithfull Forever

Dear followers, it’s with a heavy heart that I announce I will continue Faithfull Forever exclusively on Instagram. As you have noticed updates here have been getting more infrequent.

I’m still a fan of Marianne and love her so very much but due to a combination of real life, practicality and changes on Tumblr that I cannot support I won’t be updating this account anymore. It’ll remain open as an archive and I invite you to browse old posts and also to follow @mariannefaithfullforever on Instagram.

Faithfull Forever started on Tumblr 10 years ago and I’m immensely grateful for all of you who have followed me and through your reblogs, likes and messages have shown that the world does care about Marianne post-1969.

... and yes, still working on that archive website and blog! Maybe I’ll finally get it done this year. For now though make sure to follow @mariannefaithfullforever on Instagram for all the Marianne rarities from around the web and my personal collection!

“Fleur d’ame” will be available to watch on RTS Deux’s website for 29 days! I had no issues watching their channel’s live stream with a VPN/Swiss proxy, but somehow it doesn’t seem to work with this video. Anyone else having issues? (If someone could help me download the video I’d be eternally grateful! Please, please message me!)

I really loved the documentary. There might not have been any huge revelations, but finally Marianne’s story was told in a completely new way. Usually we see Marianne through the lense of the male gaze that’s always looking for the sex and drugs instead of the rock’n’roll. Film maker Sandrine Bonnaire sometimes pushes Marianne out of her comfort zone, but knows when to really stop.

Here we get a honest pastiche of Marianne’s life commented on by herself in recent interviews with Sandrine, but also as herself at various points in time while she was living her own history. You get interviews, (rare) video clips, concert footage, looks behind the scenes of Marianne’s life and work today.

I’ve been extremely busy with a new project a friend asked me help with: a website dedicated to Bobbie Gentry. She was a prolific singer and songwriter in the 60s and 70s and then vanished without leaving a trace.
