It's okay to want community, but look out for the cults. Yes, there are cults, I have seen them.

Look out for the MLMs, if they're selling something then everything they say is not real; it's fabricated to draw you in and buy.

Look out for cultist behaviour; exclusivity where you buy to get in. If you don't meet their standards you don't get in, or worse they pull you in with promises to build you and forge you into their standards.

And look out for groomers. People who lie about their age, their life, their location and their struggles. They will research and say whatever it takes to get you under their thumb, and worse; to get you into their clutches. AI makes the trickery far easier for them to commit, even live video calls can be faked now; remember that.

Never trust anything at face value, nor trust the words of anyone online.

I would even go so far as to say don't even trust me, really. You don't know me, you don't know them.

It's important to remember we all have our failure days. Even those who post their perfection and success have failures they don't speak of.
