I like Lancelot, I like him a lot. He reminds me of myself if I'm being honest. A man whose childhood was devoid of love because of how he was. A man of cripplingly low self confidence. A man who made himself to be the best he can be, because he had genuinely believed he had nothing to offer as himself. A man with so much love to give, and had received so much love. A man trying to be the best a man could be, when the best men are gone. A good man, a flawed man, a failed man, but a good man. Perhaps even the Best.

You got Anduril with it's clean silvery steel and bluish black grip. Then you have Blackfyre, with it's dark, smokey, Damascus steel, with gold and black forming the handle, guard, and pommel.

Anduril has a heroic feel to it, it's a literal bright sword against the darkness. Its function in the story is to herald the Return of the King, a promise of peace and an end to the decline and war that tears Gondor and Arnor apart.

I'm on Book 2 now, and we're slowly creating the Round Table. The plot line about Morgause's Children: Gawain, Agravaine, Gareth, and Gaheris life growing up as a Gael is interesting. They're even going up to capture a Unicorn!

I'm reading through The Once and Future King, and Merlin has a GUN???

So, Merlin could have just gone "I CAST GUN" all this time and no one's ever told me?

Imagine if you were in the Second Age, you're a a Native of what becomes Gondor or Arnor, leading a Rebellion against the now greedy Atlantean Super Men that are colonizing your home. Or you're one of the Numenoreans waging a civil war, before and after your home sank.

Or you're an Elf in the First Age, exiled from Heaven, besieging Hell Itself. Or you're a part of some tribe of cavemen, your people being dragged into a war between Satan and Elves that are really really into jewelry for a reason.
