“God I can’t believe I’m about to do this.”
“I’m sorry I have to lock you in this room for the next five days.”
“I don’t want to owe you any favors either.”
“I wish one thing led to another because what happened next was all at once.”
“So we’re clear she’s sixteen- nineteen!”
“Sometimes truth hurts, you gotta embrace it.”
“Loser, you have a Tinder coach?”
“That makes me real nervous man.”
“Easy! Don’t point that thing at me!”
“Look at me, I’m telling you, there’s no bullets, pull the trigger.”
“There was one bullet in it okay, sue me.”
“Trust me, if I were in an internet video nobody would think I was a jerk.”
“You just rick-rolled an email thread of people planning a funeral dude!”
“You’re not gonna make me feel bad about this.”
“Wow, who threw the scissors? Not cool!”
“You monster! You trash man!”
“I hope you die next.”
“You have a very inconsistent style.”
“Let me level with you man cause you’re obviously not gettin’ it I can’t afford to eat $500 every time I go out, I can’t have that on my conscience I can’t have that on my card.”
“Please, one insane thing at a time.”
“Why do you hate yourself?”
“At the end of the day you’re still you, and you suck.”
“I truly believe that the world revolves around me, not metaphorically either.”
“Yes, god does forbid this!”
“Just thinking about it literally all the time makes me sick to my stomach!”
“This photo of you planking at a candle light vigil, I mean I don’t even know what the vigils for but I think no matter what it’s pretty depraved!”
“You’re so hated, buddy.”
“Okay? I’m better than okay! I’m gay!”
“What’s psychotic is you trying to embarrass me for caring about you too much!”
“This is not how I wanted to start my day!”
“You locked yourself in a closet for two hours yelling ‘shoot her, shoot the bitch for all I care!’”
“WHATEVER I said.”
“I mean what is wrong with you? This is so bizarre, why is this our interaction?”
“I’m too busy for ____’s bullshit right now.”
“So they are get rich quick schemes?”
“NEVERMIND I said.”
“Kick me while I’m down why don’t ya?”
“Every student was supposed to send a letter to your future self, turns out, every single student sent a letter to me. Yeah, twenty-eight different letters that all start out with the same sentence, ‘I hope you’re not alive to read this.’”
“Your dad is an evil man and he’s raising you to be the spawn of Satan.”
“How was that inadvertent? It was precise, it was methodical, it was illegal.”
“Oh my god. You called us friends.”
“All I know is I can’t afford first and last month or any of the ones in between.”
“Call me a dumbass again and I will smack you, I swear I don’t take kindly to that shit.”
“Will you stop calling my family?!”
“Wow, these are a lot of reckless driving tickets.”
“Okay can you go like five minutes without editorializing.”
“I got arrested for doing ninety in a zero, there’s no like sign or anything but it was a fricken kindergarten so yeah I think you’re supposed to go zero!”
“You sound like the fricken cop that I punched!”
“I don’t know where you get this false sense of entitlement, but you also can’t afford shit.”
watchashea:
❛ Never thought they were, really – but .holy shit…. What are you gonna do now ? ❜
“Get this to the public,” She paused at the sound of someone walking up the steps, lowering her voice to a whisper. “But first we’d better get the hell out of here.”

Keen eyes follow the young woman’s hand as it reached into her purse. Pepper spray, taser or gun - none of which Dick wants to deal with tonight. Reflexively he tenses up. A civilian was no problem, but that didn’t mean he wanted to try and disarm one without harming them.
“The one and only,” Dick responds - probably a bit more cheeky than necessary in a relatively serious situation. He likes to hope that since the woman has seen him that she won’t jump to unnecessary actions. “A big one,” he supplies before tossing the folder gently between them. It is sealed shut so the papers won’t go anywhere if she drops it. He doesn’t want to get up into her space to just hand it to her though.
“Someone close to the Mayor is helping to traffic people into the city - i want to hit him where it hurts, his reputation,” Dick explains carefully. Usually exposing the crime and arresting someone was the family way. But he wanted this man to never be able to do anything with a scrutinizing look again. “Take a look if you want to verify for yourself,” he offers. Inside was everything the reporter could want from photographs to a flash drive with telephone transcripts.
Greta picked up the envelope hesitantly as she listened to him speak, she was too focused on his words and opening that envelope to even pay attention to the fact her expression had shifted to a glare directed at the envelope, but meant for the person responsible.
Allegedly, she reminded herself, all she had right now was an envelope full of documents that may or may not be authentic. She couldn’t say it would surprise her if it were true, infuriate, horrify, yes, but surprise? No. Gotham was so full of corruption it was impossible to keep up with, even if she spent all of her waking hours trying to.
Focused on the documents she dropped the taser back into her purse and began to sift through the papers in front of her. “Where did you get these?” She asked, not expecting much of an answer, but a girl could always hope somebody would make her job just a little bit easier. She paused for a moment, “Why did you give these to me of all people? There’s a lot of journalists with more pull on the public than me.”
“TELL THE TRUTH OR SOMEONE WILL TELL IT FOR YOU.”

a little psa that if you feel like your female muses are being neglected always throw them at me because female characters need to be protected at all costs and there shouldn’t be a reason why people are neglecting female characters in the first place because they can be just as developed and complex and well written as male characters okay thanks

“Right.” She pulled out her phone, pressed the home button, and said, “Siri, what’s the non-emergency number of the NYPD?”
Greta frowned, “You’re really gonna waste your time with all that when you could just answer a few questions?” She asked, as though it wasn’t the norm, the lengths a person would go to just to avoid answering a few questions would always astound her.
jane-buchanan-barnes:
“So, what will be enough to get you to go away?” Bucky asked. “I don’t talk to reporters off the clock.”
“That’s a bummer, because short of calling the police that’s the only way you’re gonna get rid of me.”

Stalking reporters is not Dick’s definition of a good time - he isn’t Wally after all. But he had recently found out that one of the Mayor’s Aids was helping to run a sex trafficking ring into Gotham via Bludhaven and he knew the best way to take down men like that was to hit them where it hurt - their reputation. Which was why he gathered all the evidence that anyone would ever need and hunted down a reporter in Gotham Tim had assured him wouldn’t be in anyone’s wallet.
Hence how he wound up dropping to the ground silently behind a young woman at eleven at night.
“Ms. Walker, I think I have a story for you,” Dick says - loudly enough that he announces his presence and hopefully doesn’t terrify the woman in the process. Most people in Gotham are used to her masked protector’s - but most people weren’t prepared for one to drop down behind them in the dead of night. Dick has gotten a couple of bad reactions from doing this before, hence why he stands far enough away he can’t be punched or kicked reflexively.
Greta almost jumped out of her skin when she heard a voice behind her, being out past dark in Gotham was something she generally tried to avoid, although she was pretty bad at it. Night in Gotham was where most stories began and ended. She whipped around, hand in her purse gripping her taser.
“Nightwing?” her voice was probably an octave higher than usual from the surprise. She paused, examining him, he looked like the real deal, she took a deep breath and placed a hand on her chest to calm herself down, leaving the other hand holding onto her weapon. Doubted it would be of much assistance with a vigilante who spent a decent amount of time fighting people with guns, but it made her feel a little more secure nonetheless. “What story?”
starlightsulu:
Shore leave rarely was a quiet thing — something always happening , someone always needing a lending hand ; whether it be the crew or someone specific . No issues , really — happy to help . But he does wonder , when will they really catch a break ? The pilot smiles , welcoming as always . “ — Yeah , I am . ” A beat . “ Something need flying ? ”
Greta paused, trying to think of the best way to phrase the situation, “Kind of,” she began, he sounded helpful, that was a good sign, although everybody sounds helpful before you start talking like a crazy conspiracy theorist. “There also needs to be something to fly, but once we’ve got that, I know exactly where to go.”
