i wish i could attribute this quote properly, but i remember it went something like-

“songwriting is like performing open heart surgery on yourself.”

this couldn’t be more true. it’s a painful yet fulfilling process. you peel back the layers of your ego to reveal the beautifully raw and intimate parts of yourself. you search for the ache in your chest and stop the bleeding. the times where i’ve suffered writer’s block, i was either second-guessing myself, or i wasn’t looking deep enough❤️‍🩹
